You guys remember that shaman in the last two episodes of Big. Well I think she might have some competition because my soothsaying abilities are right up there with her. My mystery cracking theory turns out to be right, but that’s only the tip of the iceberg. While I love how the Hong Sisters have tried to delve into the … Continue reading →
It’s a truth universally acknowledged, that when one half of the OTP falls in love, the other half of the OTP is sure to follow. Big 9 was daebak, and with it come some critical mystery reveals and lots of narrative momentum between Da Ran and Kyung Jae. Much as I love Kyung Jae, i.e. Kyung Joon in Yoon Jae’s … Continue reading →
Having Song Joong Ki play a feral wolf boy is like a stroke of casting brilliance. The boy looks as cuddly as a baby panda, so clearly he’s going to have to use his acting prowess to convince me he’s a dangerous threat to humanity. The first stills are out for the upcoming K-movie Wolf Boy starring Song Joong Ki … Continue reading →
Being obsessed with a Mon-Tues K-drama up ends the normal state of expectation. Instead of enjoying the weekend to its fullest, I find myself longing for Monday despite knowing it brings with it a full work week. As long as I get my Big fix, I’m willing to suffer whatever comes with it. My love for this drama is as … Continue reading →
The Summer box office is off to a roaring start in China with the premiere of Painted Skin: The Resurrection setting new box office records this weekend. Reviews are decidedly mixed, from story is flimsy to production is breathtaking. Both are probably true, and is a fine enough reason to tune in. I’ve been dying to check out this movie … Continue reading →
I’ve always thought Ha Ji Won was a goddess, but after The King 2 Hearts she’s become my queen (and probably Lee Seung Gi‘s as well, heh). After the drama wrapped, she took a trip to North America that involved some events in LA and a trip down to Los Cabos for a photoshoot for Harper’s Bazaar Korea. It’s not … Continue reading →
KBS released some new stills of Mari, who is looking prettier than ever, as well as the video preview for episode 9. The preview gets my blood pressure up, all on account of Mari. She’s not dastardly, per se, but she’s starting to really grate on my nerves. I suppose my patience is wearing thin with her because I see … Continue reading →
Surprise! Haha, if anyone is watching Big with me, you’ll totally get that inside joke. I’ve always said I write what I feel like, and my desire to translate Da Mo Yao and Yun Zhong Ge was prompted by my love for the novels rather than doing a public service of generating content. I was in the mood yesterday and … Continue reading →
I don’t think the news that Da Ran and Kyung Jae start living together is a spoiler to anyone, since they are married now and for all intents and purposes ought to be living together so as to not arouse suspicions from either family. But the article that accompanied these new pictures does have some spoilery tidbits about Big so … Continue reading →
The already wrapped modern C-drama SOP Queen finally released trailers this week, but there hasn’t been confirmation of when it’s airing. Starring Hans Zhang, Chen Qiao En, and Godfrey Tsao, the drama definitely went all out on location shoots in London for a month before wrapping up in Shanghai and Taipei. The title is about being a “leftover girl” which … Continue reading →
So I made a leeeetle mistake in my last post about Kim Hyung Jun’s upcoming single from his new solo mini album called “Escape”. The first single is actually the song “Sorry I’m Sorry” (Super Junior might be having conniptions but whatever) and is accompanied by a 25-minute mini drama MV co-starring Kang Ji Hwan and Lee Ki Woo. The … Continue reading →
[Breaking news: I know which episode Kyung Joon’s body might wake up. It was in the news. I’ll hide the spoiler below the cut.] Following in the footsteps of Gong Yoo and Lee Min Jung‘s Me2Day chat two weeks ago with the fans of Big, the other two leads Suzy and Baek Sung Hyun held their own chat yesterday with … Continue reading →
Arang and the Magistrate continues to marinate in the awesomesauce. The newly released stills of the second leads are as fantastic as the ones for Lee Jun Ki and Shin Mina. Colorful and animated without turning cartoonish, these stills give off the fantasy sageuk vibe that the drama is aiming for. Yeon Woo Jin plays a villainous government official and … Continue reading →
