You know, I just might have to accept that Yu Zheng is a flat out insane drama producer. His loco casting choices for his adaptation of The Swordsman have been causing extreme cases of laughter and spitting up blood in C-fandom, but he doesn’t seem to do it to drum up publicity or whore out his projects, unlike Ladyboss over … Continue reading →
I never thought I’d see Lee Byung Hun in a sageuk. In his twenty year acting career, he hasn’t done either a drama or movie period role, while most of his peers have at least tried one or two out for size. I think he’s a fantastic actor so it’s not for lack of ability to channel the gravitas necessary … Continue reading →
The King 2 Hearts feels like two steps forward and one step back. I don’t mean that in a negative way, but in the realistic context of how romance blossoms not necessarily in a linear fashion. Jae Ha and Hang Ah are very VERY different people, both in personality and cultural background. It’d be a stretch to imagine them marrying … Continue reading →
I’m usually an happy customer when it comes to kiss scenes. Other then the dead fish lips, most kisses are squeeworthy since it brings the OTP closer together. Even if it makes no narrative sense, like the first kiss in Lie to Me. It still makes me happy. So when we get a kiss like the one at the end … Continue reading →
Perfection, thy name is The King 2 Hearts. What I love about watching the pas-des-deux between Hang Ah and Jae Ha is how there are no misunderstandings of the lame variety. No obstacles for the sake of manufacturing angst. They are genuinely confused about their feelings for each other – neither is what the other wants in a significant other, … Continue reading →
Park Min Young has been the face of the Korean brand Campagna for quite some time, and she must really fit their image because she’s back for their Spring 2012 collection. I have this thing for simple clean lines, and these pictures are precisely what I love seeing. It gives off the warm breeze of Spring, and the clothes just … Continue reading →
Super awesome spoiler pictures for episode 6 of The King 2 Hearts. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. This drama literally has everything I could ask for. Functional happy families, both Jae Ha and Hang Ah having loving parents and are fully functional people without any hang ups, discounting Jae Ha’s narcissism and tendency to be an ass. Great friendships, … Continue reading →
I’m crying tears of happiness right now. The King 2 Hearts keeps getting better and better with each episode, leaving me laughing, gasping, and awwwing my way through scene after perfect scene. It’s so clear that Hang Ah and Jae Ha like each other, but what makes it so much fun is seeing how they make each other jump though … Continue reading →
At this point in the novel, I feel like I know all the main characters so well. With the exception of Liu Fu Ling, of course. I’ve said this before – Yun Zhong Ge is really the story of Meng Jue, despite its title being a play on Yun Ge’s name, while the love story of Yun Ge and Liu … Continue reading →
MBC really dragged this out until the very end, finally releasing new official stills of this week’s episodes of The King 2 Hearts. Jae Ha in military uniform is yum, but Jae Ha in a suit is mind blowing levels of good looking. While I love watching Hang Ah and Jae Ha bickering, because they each dish out as much … Continue reading →
When I heard this news I let out a bloodcurdling screech. Yoon Si Yoon has been cast as the lead of an upcoming C-drama called Happy Noodle. Normally I’m all for K-actors heading overseas to make dramas in China or Taiwan. It’s never going to be a cinematic masterpiece, but it’s good for their careers and a welcome change of … Continue reading →
My perfect precious Moon Geun Young tests my patience so, with her going long stretches between projects and leaving me chomping at the bit for her to announce whatever it is that has caught her attention. In terms of endorsements, she’s also quite selective, so it’s a treat to see her return to the CF world with a series of … Continue reading →
Can someone tell me when Sato Takeru suddenly turned smoking hot? I mean, a few years ago he was Miura Haruma‘s side kick in Bloody Monday, and now he’s freaking KENSHIN! And not only is he Kenshin, he’s ridiculously perfect as the character based on what I see in the trailer for the live-action movie adaptation of Rurouni Kenshin. The … Continue reading →
