Pardon me? Did I read the news story right? The casting has finally been confirmed for the upcoming blockbuster-in-the-making Korean movie Thieves. The first thing going through my mind is – oh hells yeah, Lee Jung Jae and Jeon Ji Hyun are reuniting a decade after they made my heart sing with longing as a pair of time-crossed lovers in Il Mare … Continue reading →
I’ve already brought Song Seung Heon’s March GQ Korea magazine photospread here (channeling subversive debonair) to drooling fangirls everyone, and here’s my Jung Woo Sung’s photospread for the same magazine (channeling off-beat masculine charm juxtaposed with boyish touches). I’ve also seen all the pictures of Lee Byung Heon (entirely done in black and white, primarily intense close-ups, with one glowery … Continue reading →
Let me dispel a few more Sunny Happiness induced moments of self-doubt pertaining to your perceptive abilities – yes, Mike He as Xian Yun Jie is getting hotter and more insanely handsame with each episode, and no, it’s not your imagination that the love story you are watching develop brings a feeling of tender awe and little heart flutters in your very … Continue reading →
Congratulations to a boatload of second lead shipping fans of You’re Beautiful! Your most fervent wishes have just come true – Park Shin Hye and Jung Yong Hwa have signed on to be the leads in the upcoming MBC drama Festival. It’s set in a college campus music department (okay, and What’s Up still can’t find a slot to air?), … Continue reading →
Oh man, Heon-Hee shippers are going to be sad their favorite couple missed each other by a refrigerator. LG selected Kim Tae Hee and Jung Woo Sung to be its spokescouple for its new line of Dios fridges. They filmed the CF just last week. This selection is all the more ironic since Kim Tae Hee’s My Princess co-star Song Seung … Continue reading →
The pretty (oh my god so pretty) cast of the upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs drama 49 Days held its press conference yesterday in preparation for its premiere next week. I’ve posted enough about the drama so I have nothing more to add substantively about the story, but fashion and chemistry-wise this press conference was a win and added to my interest … Continue reading →
I’m going to keep this short and just let you read the recap, because episodes 13-14 of Sunny Happiness were just that good (ppsst, just an FYI, each subsequent episode of SH after this point also gets better and better until I’m going to lose the ability to heap superlatives on it). Suffice to say, these are the two episodes … Continue reading →
Take a deep breath, lady (talkin’ to myself here – nothing to look at), and lower your expectations. I know it’s not 100% confirmed, and the entire thing could be more meh than yeah when all is said and done, but the news that Cha Seung Won might be the new male lead for the next Hong Sisters’ drama has … Continue reading →
D-day has finally arrived for Binnie fangirls the world over. Hyun Bin, now back to being extraordinary Mr. Kim Tae Pyung, enlisted in the marines yesterday to serve his country for a two year mandatory service. My hats off to you sir – for being so unbelievably amazing in real life that I both weep and cheer for the prospect … Continue reading →
It really must be Spring already, because the fashion magazines are all brimming with gorgeous photospreads, one after another. I’m up to my eyeballs in staring at stunning ladies wearing exquisite clothes. But what the heck, it’s all good, especially if the model in question is an actress I happen to like. I can’t help it – there is just … Continue reading →
Having finished watching Sunny Happiness, my recapping requires me to temper a natural tendency to jump ahead of myself. Conversely, it also gives me a birdseye perspective on the entire drama, and my opinion of SH’s quality gets validated further when I rewatch an episode to recap. SH may not qualitatively compare to the best K-drama romance offerings, but it actually offers something refreshing … Continue reading →
Y’all know I love Ha Ji Won, even if her character and all of Secret Garden drives me nuts. Since wrapping SG, rumors have Ha Ji Won’s next project being potentially joining Jang Dong Gun in a drama about the President of Korea (which seems to be quite a popular topic recently, what with Go Hyung Jung doing Daemul and … Continue reading →
My current drama addiction Sunny Happiness has brought a wave of fresh air to the small screen. I think the drama even has a good influence on its two lead actors, as Janine Chang and Mike He went to Singapore last month in February to promote SH looking cheerful and well-rested. They both look so energetic and gorgeous! Mike’s new … Continue reading →
