It’s an amazingly stress-free feeling, recapping a drama knowing how its going to unfurl and having the peace of mind that it’s going to keep getting better and be absolutely awesome. As opposed to going off the rails, leading me to turn ragey, and all hell breaks loose at AKP. I’m only kidding about pimping Sunny Happiness – it may … Continue reading →
Yoon Eun Hye was supposed to be back on the small screen this year with Love Song, which has now been officially terminated after the production company could not find a co-star for her since the death of Park Yong Ha last June. But YEH is coming back to the big screen for her next project, a chick flick called … Continue reading →
This day arrived much earlier than I expected. Since I started recapping, I figured one day I’d recap a TW-drama. I never thought it come anytime soon, since I haven’t liked one from start to finish in years. Lo and behold, surprises may catch one off guard, but it never fails to delight from the unexpected. I’ve decided to recap … Continue reading →
Are you watching Sunny Happiness? If you are not, you’re missing out. This drama is well-acted, well-written, ably directed, and has a kick-ass soundtrack. I’m thisclose to saying to heck with it and recapping this sucker from start to finish. It’s that good. Though if I do it, someone needs to send me DL links so I can take screencaps (sigh, … Continue reading →
I think the actors I like have tons of similarities, for the most part, and almost always win me over with performances that are indelible and moving. I’ve been watching The Duo (very good so far) waiting and waiting for PIE to finally show up (hopefully next week). In the meantime, he’s channeling emo-guyliner-James Dean for his cover spread in … Continue reading →
Recently a panel of experienced entertainment veterans ranging from the former head of SBS to an acting professor at Seoul University got together and critiqued the pure acting ability of the top-paid stars in Korean entertainment. I found all the criticisms valid, the rankings based on acting ability pretty much dead on, and some of the critiques so funny I … Continue reading →
Next week is the head-to-head premiere of two seemingly complex and heady melodramas, The Thorn Birds and Royal Family, but all I can think about is for March 16th to arrive instantaneously. That’s when 49 Days premieres, of course. You would think I would have learned my lesson by now and temper my excitement just a bit, but alas, it’s … Continue reading →
Episode 16 of My Princess puts a period on the fantasy fairy tale of an ordinary girl who discovers that she is a long-lost princess of Korea. All in all – the drama was better than I expected, but not as good as it could have been. Of the three dramas I have recapped, this one leaves the least immediate … Continue reading →
The kids of Dream High filmed their concert special tonight in Seoul, which will air next Tuesday to even out the extra day left on the airing schedule from when DH was preempted one episode for soccer. Unlike the concert for Secret Garden, this event is not being integrated into the drama episode itself, and will instead be aired in … Continue reading →
The cast of The Thorn Birds had their press conference today, and the first thought in my mind was “already?”, which made me realize that President was ending this week. Aish, I took a break a few weeks ago from President so I could concentrate and marathon it in sitting, and whoosh time just flies right on by. Luckily, I’m … Continue reading →
Oh My Princess, you are absolutely a barrel of batty monkeys. First you do the cute so perfectly I got a tooth ache and still I couldn’t stop consuming you. Then you veered into mopey plot machinations so insane even the folks at Lost wonder how you had the chutzpah to unleash it on unsuspecting viewers. Finally, you’ve gone back … Continue reading →
How many variations of “I Want This Drama Now” do you think I can conjure up? I dunno, but I’ve got to start assembling them because I don’t want to bore everyone by my constant repetition. The first teaser of 49 Days has arrived. Oh hallelujah *cries tears of joy joy happy happy*. I’m going out on a limb and … Continue reading →
I’m in such a good mood today (still riding a Sunny Happiness induced high), ain’t nothing going to bring me down. Which means whatever I see and read, I react in an optimistic way. Rather like a dim but cheerful little puppy. My Princess – I am ready for anything you send my way for tomorrow’s final episode. I would … Continue reading →
