We’re two weeks away from the premiere of 49 Days, and my personal goal is to finish my Sunny Happiness recaps by then so that I can get that addiction out of my system (good luck with that) in order to start squealing over this drama. SBS released a ton of official promotional materials yesterday, including posters, character stills, and … Continue reading →
Hyun Bin was just at Berlinale (Berlin International Film Festival) a few weeks ago, where his latest film Come Rain Come Shine (co-starring Im Soo Jung) was invited to screen at the festival. A high honor indeed, and one that continues to rocket Binnie to the heights of stardom, right before he has to take a two year hiatus to … Continue reading →
Sunny Happiness Recap Announcement: I’ve found the DL links for the C-drama airing, so I’m going to be recapping that version since it’s done already, and I can’t wait week-to-week to recap this baby and talk about it. That is how much I love this drama. Just a note that this particular recap is titled episodes 4-6, but is really … Continue reading →
Get ready world, singer Jang Geun Seok is about to make his grand debut on the Japanese stage. I don’t know how he does it time and again, but Jang Geun Seok has this way of turning various elements that normally wouldn’t go together, and making it work. For the cover art of his new album Let Me Cry (which … Continue reading →
Finally! MBC’s currently airing Mon-Tues drama The Duo is heading into the adult story proper next week. After eight episodes of solid sageuk fare, with plenty of angsty, secrets, and stakes, the drama finally introduces the adult leads next week. I’ll miss the kids, who were by and large good actors, and had nice chemistry with each other. For anyone … Continue reading →
Wow, what a great final episode of a drama. Dream High episode 16 took everyone full circle, and then full speed ahead. All the loose ends were fluidly tied up with some open interpretations to make for food for thought. This drama is definitely a keeper for me, a story about dreams, friendship, rivalry, talent, hardwork, sacrifice and overcoming adversity. … Continue reading →
And another one bites the dust. I don’t follow boy bands, regardless of where they are from (Taiwan, Korea, Japan, the States). But I know the basic information about most boy bands, and I tend to get really sentimental when I read about yet another one disbanding and/or losing a member. I remember finding KAT-TUN mostly annoying until Jin got … Continue reading →
It appears that I am to blame for the recent spate of sleepless nights and tired eyes caused by an uncontrollable urge to watch more and more Sunny Happiness. Fine, I’ll take the blame, but I suggest everyone develop more self-control, starting of course with myself. In recapping episode 3 of Sunny Happiness, it was hard for me to stop … Continue reading →
With AKP fully branching out from K-dramas to TW-dramas in recent weeks, culminating in my decision to recap Sunny Happiness, I think it’s fitting to devote a post to a collection of Taiwan actors who breathe life into dramas and movies from that region of the world. I’ll be giving my personal impressions of these actors, as well as a … Continue reading →
My mind has been blown with the activity going on at the GeunGeun discussion forum here. I’m trying to find a work-around with how slow the original discussion forum is loading since the comments are upwards of 1000. For now, I’ll start a new thread for everyone to continue with the fun times.
Continue reading →I can’t believe tomorrow is the big finale for Dream High! I’m been preoccupied with other drama matters lately, which is a good thing, otherwise I’d be totally anxious about how the drama will all end. The final video preview is out, and watching it makes me smile ear to ear. DH was truly a wonderful surprise from start to, … Continue reading →
Now that My Princess has ended, I’m sure some newly-converted Song Seung Heon fans are probably missing their Park Hae Young. Never fear, my Heon oppa will be back with another project this year – the man is a workaholic and keeps trying new projects. In the meantime, you’ve all seen his cover for GQ Korea, and now we’ve got … Continue reading →
Upcoming Qing Dynasty time-travel and palace intrigue C-drama Bu Bu Jing Xin (步步惊心) held a media event this week to introduce its first trailer (and likely as a head-toss to its rival Jade Palace Lock Heart, which is ending its broadcast this week). I checked out JPLH when it first aired, and its not to my liking, so I’ll remain … Continue reading →
