jTBC college romance and bad decisions drama Nevertheless is wrapping up its run with a less than hoped for ratings but it got plenty of buzz from beginning to now end for a variety of reasons both good and bad. That it starred the two IT young stars of 2021 in Han So Hee and Song Kang was definitely the … Continue reading →
Well it’s certainly a double dose of good news for Im Soo Hyang and probably a karma payment for her last drama being neigh unwatchable (and pulled off streaming sites in Korea) due to her male lead bullying scandal. She has just been cast as the female lead opposite So Ji Sub in his comeback drama in four years Dr. … Continue reading →
I’ve had this post nearly written for months now and was just lackadaisical on finishing it for posting. So it’s with a heavy heart and a strange sense of serendipity over what has happened in one week to male lead Zhang Zhe Han in C-drama Word of Honor that I feel compelled to finish it as an ode to him. … Continue reading →
It’s funny that international viewers can enjoy Chinese entertainment and the forget that it’s still a one party communist country where any perceived freedom of expression is a leeway and not a right. The social contract that binds each person to his/her community and country is even more absolute in China and ergo the consequences more severe where there is … Continue reading →
Okay, this looks soooooo cute, just like I envisioned when I read the webtoon. And it works even if female lead Kim Go Eun is not the live action personification of the petite and shyer Yumi from the story Yumi’s Cells. The moment we see her various cells in action it just brings the story to life and makes viewer … Continue reading →
Dang, the casting director for tvN drama Hometown Cha Cha Cha needs a raise and a toast of thanks. By pairing up Kim Sun Ho and Shin Mina, it has the potential to be one of those iconic onscreen couplings, as long as the story of their romance and relationship is memorable and well-written. The two get their own Elle … Continue reading →

The editorial staff of Singles Magazine Korea definitely spread the wealth with its cover model in the upcoming September 2021 edition, having something for both genders to enjoy. Suzy and Jang Ki Yong are sharing the cover next month, she gets the A side and he has the B side for the fashion and lifestyle publication that skews younger and … Continue reading →
I wish tvN didn’t photoshop the posters so much for Hometown Cha Cha Cha, female lead Shin Mina is overbrushed and male lead Kim Sun Ho has too much makeup and honestly both are perfect exactly as they are. That quibble aside, I’m hoping this fun vibe K-drama delivers the much needed end of summer last hurrah of joy as … Continue reading →
The stars are aligned with this one – top actress Song Hye Kyo is back on the promo circuit due to a new drama Now, We Are Breaking Up premiering in mid-fall, and it so happens to be a drama set in the fashion industry. That timing means she’s the perfect cover model for the most exclusive Vogue Korea September … Continue reading →
C-netizens are telling Elle China to go jump a big god, i.e. slang for getting rid of bad mojos. The Zhang Zhe Han visiting Yasukuni Shrine scandal has expanded and one of the folks scrutinized around him is top C-actress and producer Zhao Wei (Vicki Zhao). She’s got no shortage of her own past scandals big or small but nothing … Continue reading →
The last time I watched a drama set around a family franchise of a famous Korean dish, I was craving Seolleongtang all the time as I was addicted like mad to Brilliant Legacy/Shining Inheritance. Now I’m going to love gamjatang even more than I already to (nomnomnom) thanks to upcoming K-drama Dal Ri and Gamjatang, about a high society art … Continue reading →
