A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Man, I’ve long heard that popular drama C-actress Zhao Yi Ling has one of the worst fandoms in C-ent (if not the worst) but now it’s out in the open for the world to see. News leaked on August 22nd (2 days ago) that Zhao Li Ying and C-actor Wang Yibo will be reuniting for a new drama after working … Continue reading →

Kim Min Jae Steals the Drama in the First Teaser for KBS Rom-com Dali and the Cocky Prince Opposite Park Kyu Young

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I found the first official poster for upcoming KBS romance drama Dali and the Cocky Prince (Dal Ri and Gamjatang) bizarrely terrible but thankfully the first teaser swung things back to the positive side albeit in a very one-sided way. Male lead Kim Min Jae is ON FIRE, he totally stole the 30 second teaser with his animated exuberance, and … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Oh this is a cute real life coupling, and seems so uneventful and sweet in a month full of wildly negative news in the entertainment world. Idol and actress Joy from the SM group Red Velvet is a taken girl as the lucky guy is none other than popular R&B singer Crush. I know they both have real names but … Continue reading →

Full Set of Character Posters for SBS Sageuk Red Sky Showcases Each Lead in a Different Genre of Story

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Okay, I totally love the character posters for upcoming sageuk Red Sky (Lovers of the Red Sky or Hong Chun Gi) but probably not for the reason SBS wants me to. I don’t think its any good or visually all that appealing but holy is it great for dissection. It’s like the drama can’t figure put what genre or vibe … Continue reading →

tvN Sat-Sun Dystopian Legal Drama The Devil Judge Wraps Up Run Averaging 6% in Ratings with Mediocre Buzz

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I would pick a crash and burn over just a meh project, at least when it comes to K-drama since the former is memorable and the latter part of the scrum of dramas that come and go. tvN this weekend saw the end of The Devil Judge (Demon Judge), totally primed for ratings and buzz thanks to the cast of … Continue reading →

Song Joong Ki and Seo Ye Ji are the Most Google Searched Korean Actor and Actress Name in the First Half of 2021

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

The pure data analytics available from Google search terms are exactly that, the number of times a word was typed into a search bar and pressed go. No subjectively whatsoever. So it’s definitely been an eventful year so far into 2021 in K-ent (and really in multiple other Asian ent industries) so the recently released Google top search terms for … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Summer is winding down and the beginning of September as kids get fully back into the swing of school there will be a new drama to hopefully inject some buzz into what has been a dull C-drama season so far. Even better is that it changes the bad mojos around popular C-actress Yang Zi who has been in the news … Continue reading →

jTBC Saturday Drama Nevertheless Wraps Up Mixed Reception Run with an Ending that Will Surely Please Devoted Fans Who Stuck With It

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

A cohesive picture is always more telling about a story than just reading a chapter at a time. Perhaps jTBC drama Nevertheless should have been a Netflix produced series where all the episodes drop at once. It never delivered on the buzzy lead hype of Song Kang and Han So Hee pairing up and the push-and-pull dynamics of a realistic … Continue reading →

Lee Jong Seok Catches a Bestie Kim Woo Bin Lookalike Stuffy and Shares New Snaps of Him

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

The bromance was real and is continuing nearly ten years on with K-actor Lee Jong Seok and Kim Woo Bin. Their School 2013 vaulted both from young rising actor to male lead in big productions level exactly as that franchise was meant to do. That they have stayed close good friends is no secret but there have been gaps such … Continue reading →

K-netizens Find Lee Jun Ki and Lee Jong Seok Always Take on Drama Male Leads that Have the Worst Things Happen so That Image Stays with Them

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

This is a funny and all too true post – K-netizens were discussing which actors have such a strong image because of a certain type of role and they uniformly landed on Lee Jun Ki and Lee Jong Seok in the pantheon of playing male leads with the most awful things that happen to them, i.e. worst life possible. I … Continue reading →

Third Preview for SBS Sageuk Red Sky Introduces the Likely Love Triangle Between Ahn Hyo Seob, Kim Yoo Jung, and Gong Myung

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Ah, I totally see the interpersonal set up of the core three leads in SBS sageuk Red Sky (Lovers of the Red Sky or Hong Chun Gi) just like in The Moon Embraces the Sun. Male lead Ahn Hyo Seob is the stickler upstanding male lead, Kim Yoo Jung is the charming girl every guy would fall for, and Gong … Continue reading →

Park Kyu Young and Kim Min Jae are Woefully Awkward in First Drama Poster for KBS Rom-com Dal Ri and Gamjatang

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

If the goal was the make the worst rom-com drama poster ever then the production of upcoming KBS drama Dal Ri and Gamjatang have majorly succeeded woo hoo! Because this is one terrible, horrible, no good poster, doing zero justice to either leads Kim Min Jae or Park Kyu Young. This reminds me of the same vibe as the very … Continue reading →
