Everyone in K-ent can tell that beleaguered Big Three network MBC is betting all the eggs in the basket on upcoming action revenge thriller K-drama The Veil (Black Sun). That it’s been the bottom of the barrel in basically every drama time slot for years now with the occasional small hit remains such a fall from grace when I remember … Continue reading →
When novels and mangas are ones first love, I’ve lived through countless visual adaptations whether movies or dramas and the reaction from myself as a book fan is first and foremost, does this actor/actress fit the role as described in the words and pictures of the pages. I know we’re in the world of constant revision, where if a character … Continue reading →
It’s another disappointment in terms of ratings for tvN in the Mon-Tues time slot, after Doom at Your Service now You Are My Spring is underperforming in terms of rating and critical feedback though the reasons differ. While Doom was a vacuous pretentious nothing burger, Spring comes across like there is too much going on under the surface and yet … Continue reading →
Model turned actor Kim Min Gwi is such a rookie that his three drama and one movie credit are all from 2021, from a one scene role in She Would Never Know to a small part in L.U.C.A.: The Beginning to now a supporting male lead role in Nevertheless. Netizens actually like his character and relationship with supporting female lead … Continue reading →

Alrighty, I think this casting is both fantastic and even better if it quiets Kang Han Na fans who have been clamoring for her own leading role. I have too but the general discourse in every drama she’s done recently is why she’s the second female lead and dissing the female lead and that is no bueno for me. The … Continue reading →
I have my doubts about this casting coming through but I will never look a gift horse in the mouth. Kim Jae Wook may be making his first drama return in nearly three years with the romance drama Crazy Love, which I am so much squee about it’s not even funny. But I’m less enthused that his leading lady will … Continue reading →

Okay, if Instagram was around when Song Hye Kyo debuted in the late 1990’s she would totally be both an actress and influencer since she’s just got that whole package visual and vibe going. Fendi in Seoul released new pictures this week of the actress and brand spokesperson at the store modeling clothing, shoes, purses, and even cute hair accessories … Continue reading →
Welp, it’s definitely the 4th (5th? 6th) wave of COVID-19 in South Korea and this one is hitting hard as evidenced by the entertainment industry. Perhaps it’s good that so many shows are preempted these two weeks due to Olympics coverage and that will also lessen the gathering opportunities. Following the halt of filming on the Netflix drama The Sound … Continue reading →

I didn’t follow Jang Ki Yong’s … Continue reading →

Kim Hyun Soo, who rose to fame visually as the younger version of Jeon Ji Hyun in You From Another Star, has popped back into my radar with … Continue reading →
