One of the early 2021 arrivals on my radar is KBS drama Hello? It’s Me!, complete with the question mark and the exclamation in its title. Sadly it’s forty years too late for Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret type teen girl puberty introspection though there is a teen girl here and my premonition is that she’s going to … Continue reading →
Okay, this post is to thwart the heavy hands of censorship and bring more publicity to the efforts to silence art. C-dramas have been on a fantasy, wuxia, and xianxia (combo of the two) novel adaptation kick for the last decade that it’s no wonder the last few years productions have start tapping into BL novels in those genres. BL … Continue reading →
February 2021 is going to be sick in terms of how many K-dramas on my radar will drop, and across the board different genres. The legal thriller craving will be filled by tvN drama Vincenzo, or more shall I say my Song Joong Ki craving. It’s still bizarre that he hit it big with fluffy Descendants of the Sun when … Continue reading →
Man, I thought Queen Cheorin (Mr. Queen) would be breaking cable records left and right but it’s got stiff competition from the other cable dramas on the weekend time slot with one finished and another one just arrived. OCN drama The Uncanny Counter faltered in the final few episodes likely due to the screenwriter swap but the last episode got … Continue reading →
Retired early is basically not retired, anytime someone who is not true retirement age in entertainment announces a retirement I take it with a grain of salt. Such is the case with makjang queen screenwriter Im Sung Han, herself a famous name to drama audiences thanks to her string of hits in the weekend drama and daily category with Miss … Continue reading →
This is like too sweet and heartbreaking of a story not to share, thankfully it has a happy ending. With COVID-19 lockdowns one side effect is the explosion of pet ownership as people look for companion and have more time at home to take care of a pet. Shelters are reportedly emptying out in the US and that’s great, but … Continue reading →
The speed at which time flies continues to astound because I remember being so blown away by the first episode of Queen Cheorin (Mr. Queen) when it premiered and now we are not only done with the plot setting episodes but rounded the corner into the second half headed towards setting up the denouement. Episode 13 dropped below 13% from … Continue reading →
Consider me a L (Kim Myung Soo) convert. From a straight up visual with zero (stiff) acting ability, his last 6 years have been spent showing me how hard he’s trying and how much he keeps improving. He doesn’t seem to let failure stick and earns his stripes with sheer effort and results. K-media is calling him the comeback boy … Continue reading →
Looks like Lee Min Ho is all rested up and ready for 2021, he’s got a drama starting to film in the adaptation of the novel Pachinko written by a Korean-American writer. This month he’s also featured in the cover and pages of GQ Korea February 2021 edition, decked out in Fendi and looking super fine. This pictorial skews towards … Continue reading →
So much has changed in 4 years since the original movie came out in 2017 not least of which lead actor Hyun Bin has played yet another North Korean officer since then ha! The movie Confidential Assignment was a box office hit and there are always new cases that could use North and South Korean collaboration to solve so the … Continue reading →
With streaming giant Netflix reaping wild rewards with its financed and licensed K-dramas, another big name platform is joining the fun with Apple+ producing its first K-drama titled Mr. Robin. It’s based on the webtoon Dr. Brain and is about a genius doctor solving crime through the brains of the deceased and is scheduled to be a 6-episode drama. Headlining … Continue reading →
2021 is starting to feel real, it takes me a few weeks lol to really transition into a new year, and I’m also starting to get mega exciting about the upcoming dramas. Next month jTBC will premiere its 10th anniversary celebration drama Sisyphus: The Myth with Jo Seung Woo and Park Shin Woo, battling to prevent a dystopian future and … Continue reading →
Okay, all reservations done. Like, I NEED THIS DRAMA RIGHT NOW. The new poster and teaser preview is out for KBS sageuk River Where the Moon Rises with Kim So Hyun and Ji Soo and gahhhhhhh I’m dying here from all the feels these two are giving off. I heard her Princess Pyeonggang is using his foolish naive Ondal to … Continue reading →
