Okay, I can totally see the close knit cast of The King; Eternal Monarch keeping tabs on cutie pie Woo Do Hwan‘s schedule in the military and grabbing him when he’s on leave to hang out. Lee Min Ho shared two pictures this weekend of himself at a dinner party with his The King cast mates including picture taker Kim … Continue reading →
The evolution of Lee Jun Ki continues full throttle after he tackled a really layered and fascinating character in melodrama Flower of Evil. He had to share the spotlight in the second half with gone full crazy Kim Ji Hoon and that made for double the pleasure. He’s in the pages of Arena Korea this month for a stylistic and … Continue reading →
tvN Sat-Sun drama Start-Up is my happy place, and by sheer satisfaction quota per episode it’s still on tract to be my favorite for this year. It’s not the best, don’t get me wrong, but it injects squees and awwws and sniffles into my veins like the drama drug I need. Episode 7 really made me love and dislike Do … Continue reading →
Wuri Ji Pyeong, the Good Boy, likely won’t get the girl in Start-Up but he’s gotten ALL OUR LOVE and also he’s mine ahahah! My love for Kim Sun Ho has exponentially grown thanks to this drama and he’s doing such a memorable layered job in reflecting all of Ji Pyeong’s hang ups and emotional bursts. Episode 7 had a … Continue reading →
All the early feels that Tale of Gumiho could be harnessing all the good bits of Goblin and Hotel Del Luna feel apart pretty early on from lack of OTP chemistry and failure to write interesting vignettes to surround the central mystery. I’m still so happy I checked it out because I got to see the triumphant post military return … Continue reading →
The Joynews Poll celebrating the paper’s 16th anniversary continues and this time the topic is Top K-drama Scene Stealers of 2020. I have tons that come to mind, love this topic because it highlights up-and-comers as well as sometimes overlooked veterans and character actors/actresses. Getting the most votes with 42 nods is Oh Jung Se for scene stealing both It’s … Continue reading →
I’m rooting for this drama like mad because Ji Chang Wook really needs a drama picking break. His last two were abysmal to bad with Melting Me Softly and then Backstreet Rookie. He’s paired up this time with Kim Ji Won who also didn’t get the mega hit she wanted with the high profile Arthdal Chronicles, so these two together … Continue reading →
I can’t believe my prayers have been answered but in such an ironic way. K-actor Kim Soo Hyun, hot off the summer well received tvN drama It’s Okay to Not be Okay, has picked his next acting project. Normally I’d be jumping up and down but I’ll be honest and say I’m not sure I can watch it. He’s sign … Continue reading →
I find Tale of Gumiho still entertaining enough to keep watch but I wish whether from a different casting or a different twist to the story that I cared about the OTP romance because so much danger is tied to it. But alas all I care about is poor Lee Rang who gets dragged through another ringer – his half … Continue reading →
The first teaser preview is out for jTBC drama Run On and I love the warm outdoorsy vibe. Lead Im Shi Wan is a runner and seeing him outside jogging with such energy and positivity was so nice, and then juxtaposed with Shin Se Kyung as a movie subtitle translator with a quiet job. They look really cute together and … Continue reading →
I totally forget that the Navy uniforms make everyone look like Popeye the Sailorman crossed with the 80’s Japanese high school girl uniform on top. K-actor Park Bo Gum is doing his darnest to make those Navy stripes proud as mere two months after enlisting for his military service he was already MC-ing an event for the military. Normally I … Continue reading →
I feel like Tale of Gumiho tries so hard with the fated love/OTP element but it’s actually everything else that works and that central thread just falls for flat. The lack of chemistry between Yeon and Ji Ah continues so episode 9 keeping them apart made it one of the best episodes to date, and their reunion at the end … Continue reading →
Yes, the Queen slays and I love how she tops a poll followed by 6 men. The Joynews Korea 16th anniversary poll of the best actor/actress of 2020 is out, sampling over 200 entertainment industry professionals per the earlier poll topics. The World of the Married brought Kim Hee Ae ratings success and critical acclaim so she got 67 votes … Continue reading →
