I thought Hyun Bin‘s dorky military bowl-ish hair cut as a North Korean military officer in Crash Landing on You would bother me but it hasn’t. Credit to his natural handsomeness and the fact that it fits with Jung Hyuk’s stoic personality and his job needs. But that doesn’t need I won’t be loving his South Korean makeover now that … Continue reading →
A good writer never forgets and I remember when this drama was bandied about in 2017 for a K-drama adaptation. But three years later it’s totally different names attached but all is well as a restart should start from fresh footing. MBC is looking to adapt webtoon Shall We Have Dinner Together and the fresh names for the leads are … Continue reading →
It’s always nice to see the friendships behind the scenes in K-ent, the more connections people make the more support is around for life events. Comedian Park Seul Gi got married last year in 2019 and last week delivered her first child with her husband. This week she happily shared the present sent by her friend and dongsaeng Park Bo … Continue reading →
K-drama casting agents are like sharks pouncing quickly on breakout rookies and a new face just got a leading man role even before his drama has finished airing. Lee Sin Young, playing the stoic and handsome member of Hyun Bin‘s North Korea squad, will be headlining the KBS drama Friend Contract opposite also relative newbie Kim So Hye best known … Continue reading →
Lists are fraught with disagreement but I don’t think I find anything objectionable about this list. TW-ent ranked the top Hallyu K-drama actors of the last decade (2010-2020) and selected four still very active and marketable male leads Hyun Bin, Kim Soo Hyun, Gong Yoo, and Song Joong Ki. I don’t think any of these four could be left off … Continue reading →
This is a neat coincidence and probably means more viewers will be tuning in for the second half of this drama. SBS Mon-Tues medical drama Romantic Teacher, Doctor Kim 2, the second season of the hit original which aired in 2016, broke 20% ratings in today’s episode 8. The original also crossed the 20% mark in its episode 8, and … Continue reading →
This will definitely be a much discussed casting but I think it’s one of the more probably combinations considering the popularity of both. Ji Chang Wook and Kim Yoo Jung are confirmed for the upcoming rom-com drama Convenience Store Morning Star, based on a webtoon and jointly financed by US channel Lifetime in its first K-drama production. Ji Chang Wook … Continue reading →
If you would have told me when he debuted that K-actor Choi Woo Shik would be a movie picking genius and now on the cusp of breaking into Hollywood I would have laughed. And yet here we are as the Parasite cast member is entertaining an offer to do a US film called Past Lives. It’s smart to get an … Continue reading →
K-actress Park Shin Hye has updated her SNS this week with cute chic new pictures despite not being in the limelight recently with no new drama or movie out. She’s sporting a winter ashy red short hair style with bangs, it looks so fun and flirty I love it. It’s nice to see her enjoying her down time and hopefully … Continue reading →
Even though Crash Landing on You started filming last year in August 2019, it’s nowhere near banking enough footage and is basically on live shoot schedule now. August was taken up by a location shoot in Switzerland and this is a large scale drama with a lot of characters so it’s not fast point and shoot in a studio. Despite … Continue reading →
The lunar year finished on a fun note for K-actress Kim Yoo Jung as she appeared to have spent it in sun dappled California. She posted a selfie last week from the sunshine state sporting a FILA t-shirt as she’s been a spokesmodel for the youth-oriented sportswear brand since 2017 in South Korea. She was in Cali to shoot for … Continue reading →
The year of the rat is off to a….start. Not sure if it’s good or bad because all the news seems to be bad but who knows maybe the world is front loading all the negative stuff and the remainder is only up. A lot of China’s lunar new year festivities were cancelled due to fears of spreading the Wuhan … Continue reading →
This is my personal blog so technically I can write about anything. I’ve kept it focused in Asian entertainment primarily K-dramas purely for focus but clearly I have other interests. One of which is I am a intense and avid NBA fan and a diehard purple and gold Lakers girls since my youth. So it’s with a broken heart and … Continue reading →
