Nam Joo Hyuk is back on my total love list thanks to The Light in Your Eyes (Dazzling). It wasn’t even his drama to carry, that was for Kim Hye Ja and Han Ji Min in a brilliant tandem, but Nam Joo Hyuk needed to hold his own opposite them and he did that confidently. I’m even more thrilled that … Continue reading →
The first poster and teaser preview is out for Netflix produced K-drama Love Alarm. It’s on the smaller budget and scope scale compared to other recent Netflix like zombie Kingdom or early history Arthdal Chronicles but this one has the right audience in online youngsters looking for a cute few hours to pass the time. Love Alarm is adapted from … Continue reading →
I totally knew it wasn’t Lee Do Hyun‘s Chun Myung right off the bat as IU‘s past love in Hotel Del Luna. Lee Tae San‘s Yeon Woo is too cute to just be her platonic sidekick, plus the way she was so worried about him and so happy to see him after being separated in the robbery spoke volumes. But … Continue reading →
I think the idea is cute and the star ready for this type of new adventure, it’s just a tad worrying because K-netizens tend to have their claws out for her. Kim Yoo Jung is/will be headed to Italy for an upcoming reality show for the cable network Lifetime. It’s called Kim Yoo Jung’s Half Holiday in Italy and will … Continue reading →
The idea of a K-drama set around subway cops does sound rather dull, or more accurately not very compelling with the crime elements. I’m only interested in upcoming tvN drama Catch the Ghost for lead Moon Geun Young despite the premise but then I watched the just released teaser and found it way cooler than expected. Moon Geun Young’s narration … Continue reading →
Expectation is often the enemy of satisfaction, when we think too highly of something before sampling it then it tends to seem less than stellar simply because it could not match up to our hopes. I had zero expectation of tvN drama Hotel Del Luna especially after how much the Hong Sisters burned me with their last fantasy drama Hwayugi … Continue reading →
I’ve been waiting patiently for this drama and am so happy to see the first stills released this week, thanks Netflix! The streaming giant has taken a headlong dive into the world of K-dramas for two years now and up next in its line up of exclusives is the drama adaptation of webtoon Love Alarm. It stars Kim So Hyun, … Continue reading →
French jewelry house Chaumet got a lot of press in China and South Korea last week when brand spokeswoman Song Hye Kyo was in Monaco for an event. Now we see another beautiful face of the brand Crystal Liu turned into a literal princess complete with crowns in a new set of pictures shot for the jewelry line. She’s stunningly … Continue reading →
K-actor Song Joong Ki has a new sidekick for the upcoming K-movie Bogota and it’s none other than Jo Hyun Chul who has been doing memorable turns in small and now medium supporting roles in tvN dramas. He was the programmer in Memories of Alhambra supporting Binnie from the command center in Seoul and presently the patient and kind hyung … Continue reading →
The casting is on a one-two punch speed and I’m oddly liking the leads chosen. Rising young actress Kim Bora is in talks to be the titular K-drama version of Jane the Virgin, which will place her opposite confirmed male lead Jaejoong. K-netizens seem to have a bone to pick with her based on her SNS profile, updates, and personal … Continue reading →
This boy is mine fine, right? I mean, K-actor Yoo Seung Ho was already adorbs times a million but now he’s adding bad boy sexy to his repertoire and I need to take a moment to close my slightly ajar jaw. I didn’t like his last drama My Strange Hero but stuck with it nearly to end just for him, … Continue reading →
When I say the movie title Soul Mate it sounds so generic and I’m not sure if many readers know which movie I am referring to. The original Chinese language title is so much more intimate Qi Yue Yu An Sheng (七月与安生), referring to the names of the two girls turned women of this movie. It’s a movie about two … Continue reading →
My long time fave Moon Geun Youn is returning to drama land at the end of the summer and has picked an interested and rather unflashy project with tvN investigative drama Catch the Ghost. The title is a pun on her character’s name Yoo Ryung which also means ghost/spirit, so I don’t think there is anything supernatural in this story … Continue reading →
