MBC is borrowing a theme from last year 2018’s highest rated K-drama Mr. Sunshine, going back in history to the days of fighting for independence and Korean pride. Upcoming period drama Different Dreams (Yimong) is getting closer to its May premiere so time to check it out. I initially heard about this drama as a potential Lee Young Ae vehicle … Continue reading →
Apparently disgraced and likely criminally culpable K-singer Jung Joon Young had over 200,000 texts on his phone and had multiple phones, so the fallout will likely spread from the police investigation and retrieval of his communications. The next to fall is his 1N2D (1 Night, 2 Day) cast members actor Cha Tae Hyun and comedian Kim Jun Ho. Jung Joon Young’s … Continue reading →
We all need some healing at the end of a rough news week whether in K-ent or elsewhere around the world, this second full week of March 2019. I’m happy to share some pictures of K-actor Hyun Bin at a CF event in a Seoul mall, shilling for the skincare brand MediHeal and it’s purported doctor recommended face masks to … Continue reading →
While K-ent is immolating from within this past week, K-actor Song Joong Ki was pretty darn far away doing his job out in Brunei filming the overseas location shoot portion of upcoming sageuk drama Asadal Chronicles. It looked quite rustic indeed as the production team snapped a group picture after wrap and everyone schlepped back to South Korea for more … Continue reading →
We’re probably close to one more K-pop idol leaving his group and “retiring” from the industry. CNBLUE‘s Lee Jong Hyun has admitted that he, too, viewed the hidden camera sex videos circulated by singer Jung Joon Young, and also that the horrible texts between the two discussing women as sex objects to be passed around were indeed from him. So … Continue reading →
I think it’s adorkable how fashionably goofy K-actor Nam Joo Hyuk looks at the Christian Dior event in Seoul. The two shirts layered on top of one another hastily buttoned, the wide waisted chinos turning into too short cuffed hems, finished off with dad sneakers. It’s like he hand picked the most random individual items from Dior like a kid … Continue reading →
Time for an eyeball cleansing break courtesy of K-actor Kim Dong Wook in the first stills from upcoming MBCÂ drama Special Labor Inspector (Jo Jang Poong). Unfortunately Item is turning out to be rather disjointed so that’s a bummer but the first week of April the next Mon-Tues drama will be cutie patootie earnest to a fault Kim Dong Wook transforming … Continue reading →
Man, yet another singer/group I gotta delete off my playlist. In the last few years I’ve had to delete SS501, original DBSK, JYJ, and from this scandal Big Bang followed by FT Island, BEAST/Highlight, and now CNBLUE as well. Y’all can keep on listening and/or supporting oppa but goodness these text messages and crimes under investigation are vomit inducing levels … Continue reading →
On one hand I am pleased he came clean but on the other hand oooof this one hurts because I really liked him and now he’s cancelled in my mind. Former Beast and now Highlight member Yong Jun Hyung, who I came across thanks to the K-drama Monstar years ago, was initially swept up in the Seungri/Jung Joon Young chatroom … Continue reading →
I’m probably inordinately excited for tvN rom-com Her Private Life but honestly it’s been awhile since I’m so genuinely stoked. Male lead Kim Jae Wook has never done a rom-com leading man role, despite kinda stealing half the show of Marry Stayed Out All Night even when I was an OTP stan in that drama. Park Min Young is on … Continue reading →
The Seungri scandal is like the horrible reverse of the gift that keeps on giving, or more aptly the pandora’s box that should be opened for the greater good of K-ent housecleaning but HOMG is it stomach roiling to read about. The latest bad acts stemming from Seungri’s noxious chatroom members Jung Joon Young and Choi Jung Hoon of FT … Continue reading →
K-actress Kim Yoo Jung personifies the Chinese saying “youth is the original wealth”, meaning that being young is itself a total asset. She’s gorgeous, don’t get me wrong, but she radiates and glows with this mesmerizing youthful aura. It likely comes from her photo shoots and pictorials not overly accessorized or made up, and she tends to rep brands that … Continue reading →
I still can’t believe I’m typing out 30 with respect to C-actress Liu Shi Shi because I first saw her in 2008 getting her first big break as the second female lead in the 2006 adaptation of Legend of the Condor Heroes. She filmed that drama when she was just 19 years old and here she is in 2019 turning … Continue reading →
