K-actor Song Joong Ki seems to be on a reunion binge, first with news that he’s doing sageuk drama Asadal working with his Tree With Deep Roots PD again, and now news that he’s been offered and is considering the male lead for upcoming science fiction space K-movie Lightning Ship by the director of A Werewolf Boy. While his last … Continue reading →
The filming for upcoming K-drama Memories of Alhambra totally rewinds me back five years ago during the filming days of Heirs in 2013. Fan pictures galore of leads Park Shin Hye and/or Lee Min Ho filming around Los Angeles and Orange County, but this time it feels even more exotic to see Park Shin Hye and Hyun Bin in Spain … Continue reading →

Starring dual male leads Kang Dong Won and Jung Woo Sung, the supporting cast adds Han Hyo Joo, Kim Moo Yeol, and Minho to up the ante. After Along With the Gods and … Continue reading →
This story sounds like a reverse Moonlight Drawn by Clouds, and has the allure of being a potential K-drama hit. The popular cross-dressing sageuk webtoon Mung Bean Chronicles has been commissioned for a K-drama adaptation, with this particular cross-dresser being a young man dressing and living as a girl. He chooses to dress as a girl and lives in a … Continue reading →
I’m totally open to second lead ship in Mr. Sunshine though neither male lead really floats my boat. But I remember having no clue who Kim Woo Bin was before Heirs and then suddenly he was just impossibly riveting and won my attention playing a complicated meanie. That may happen again with Yoo Yeon Seok in Mr. Sunshine as he … Continue reading →
There is so much fashion eye candy out and about at the Vogue Film Fashion Exhibit in China this weekend, with top Chinese and Taiwanese stars making their chic presence felt. I don’t think everyone looks good, necessarily, but everyone looks interesting. My favorite look is definitely Yang Mi with a chic and playful one side off the shoulder short … Continue reading →
There’s a new Detective Dee movie coming this summer of ’18 and I’m stoked. The Detective Dee movies with Tsui Hark at the helm have been the right popcorn period flicks the Chinese movie world needed after years of blah big budget boredoms. The original Detective Dee and the Phantom Flame with Andy Lau was solid but I preferred the … Continue reading →
I haven’t seen Yoona recently so it’s nice to see a new spread that’s so pretty both in visuals and the staging. Yoona is in the pages of Allure Korea modeling watches and I really enjoy how the pictorial toggles between closeup and full body poses. She’s always been lanky but here isn’t so so think that it distracts, and … Continue reading →
The hit weekend My Golden Life has launched K-actress Shin Hye Sun‘s career into the next level very similar to Seo Hyun Jin after she did Another Oh Hae Young. Seo Hyun Jin followed that up with the very success Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim, so now we’ll see if Shin Hye Sun can rise her wave through her upcoming drama … Continue reading →
I’m in such a good mood and June is totally the month of wedding hopes and dreams so there isn’t an ounce of snark in me writing this congratulatory post for Korean stars Mina and Ryu Philip on their marriage this weekend. The couple made gossip waves three years ago in 2015 when they announced a relationship with the age … Continue reading →
The casting carousel for upcoming SBS drama Fox Bride Star was one of the most convoluted in recent memory due to not just the offers being slung around but also the drama title change. Originally it was a healing drama called Fox Bride Star, then the screenwriter changed the title and concept to a people travel airport drama called People … Continue reading →
The casting of relative rookie movie actress Kim Tae Ri as the female lead for Kim Eun Sook’s upcoming period epic drama Mr. Sunshine was always going to generate chatter. Her arrival on the acting scene came in a big way with the movie The Handmaiden and this drama role marks her first on the small screen and yet she … Continue reading →
This Wed-Thurs saw the conclusion of the K-drama remake of Suits, a high profile drama with leads Jang Dong Gun and Park Hyung Sik which led the time slot but didn’t manage to create big ratings. The final episode broke 10% with 10.7% and the other prime time competitors The Undateables (Handsome Guy and Jung Eum) and Come and Hug … Continue reading →
