It’s probably a smart idea for stars to use SNS only for their professional lives and have it curated by their agent or assistant. There are way too many SNS accidental or ill-advised posts and it’s time to add one more from this weekend as K-actress Lee El posted a sleeping picture of her musical costar Kim Jae Wook. He’s … Continue reading →
Ooooh, I like this casting very much especially for a weekend drama. SBS has cast Kim Jae Won and Nam Sang Mi as the leads for its next weekend drama called If It Is Her, taking over the time slot in early July from Secret Mother. The drama sounds melo but in a throwback hilarious face-changing way. Nam Sang Mi … Continue reading →
The C-actress contingent has been rocking Cannes Film Festival for over a decade now and not just Fan Bing Bing alone. I have a feeling Gu Li Na Zha is shaping up to be a fashion icon of her own but she does need to start taking more risks beyond looking exquisite like a princess or bon bon or a … Continue reading →
Whatever casting gripes I had with upcoming jTBC judicial drama Miss Hammurabi has been tempered by how much I love the promo materials. The official drama poster for the full cast above is full of camaraderie and warmth, like a hearty homemade meal as this band of disparate judges and clerks walk side by side down the street. I love … Continue reading →
A big round of deserving applause is due to the cast and crew of tvN Wed-Thurs drama My Ahjusshi (My Mister) which ended its 16-episode run with what I would call near universal thumbs up. The final episode 16 brought in a series high 7.352% ratings and the ending was one that everyone watching seemed to be happy with. With … Continue reading →
It’s too bad K-netizens are so negative on all three leads of the movie Burning as this is truly an accomplishment that Korean should be basking in. The movie got a score on the jury grid of 3.8, which is the highest for all movies screened at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, but even more impressive is that the score … Continue reading →
The visuals with the leads of Why Secretary Kim are so spot on for the roles based on the webtoon and vis-a-vis each other that it makes up for whatever flimsy narrative is in the teasers so far. All I know is that the company president Park Seo Joon is harmlessly narcissistic and his secretary Park Min Young appears prettily … Continue reading →
I feel so bad for the entire cast and crew of About Time, even moreso now that it’s clear that removed second male lead Lee Seo Won could have alleviated the situation if his situation was made known when it happened in early April. Lee Seo Won has been charged with sexual harassment and threatening assault with a weapon for … Continue reading →
It looks like I can’t stop Hwang Jung Eum from hamming it up like she’s in a silent movie and needs to act by expression alone, but conversely Namgong Min is so exquisitely restrained that it balances the drama universe out somewhat. The latest previews are out for SBS Wed-Thurs drama The Undateables (Handsome Guy and Jung Eum), premiering next … Continue reading →
Consider me surprised that TV Chosun sageuk The Grand Prince (Daegun) did so well (on cable) in ratings, becoming the highest rated drama for the cable network’s history since its launch in 2011. Starring Joo Sang Wook, Yoon Shi Yoon, and Jin Se Yeon, the drama got ratings of 2.519% at the premiere all the way up to 5.627% in … Continue reading →
I feel like the K-drama People of Incheon Airport cannot get anyone to actually commit to being at that darn airport. K-ent is reporting that Park Bo Gum has been offered the male lead and is considering the romance drama Boyfriend. This obviously puts a twist on him being in talks for People of Incheon Airport the same way Suzy is … Continue reading →
Bad behavior seemed to have slowed down in K-ent after the MeToo movement hit the shores a few weeks ago but clearly the youngsters have not all absorbed the lessons and severity of the repercussions. K-ent is reporting that actor Lee Seo Won has been under police investigation since early April for sexually harassing a female star and then later … Continue reading →
While K-actress Yoon Eun Hye is in China this week for promotional events, the great news is that she’s also confirmed to be coming back to Korea in her long awaited drama land comeback. Yoon Eun Hye is confirmed to be the female lead in the upcoming 2018 romance drama Love Watch. Her male lead will be Chun Jung Myung … Continue reading →
