I know K-ent is on a wedding roll in 2017 to more than make up for the lack of nuptials in 2016, but one of the upcoming weddings is strange and disconcerting beyond belief. I’m talking about scandal-plagued former topi idol-actor Park Yoochun, who’s rise to the top of the past decade has all but completely erased with a prostitution … Continue reading →
The top Korean actors and actresses were out in force on a Wednesday night in Seoul but the fashion gods were once again in absentia. The majority of the beautiful and handsome once again went the safe route in what I now call the white/black/gold/sequin/lace rotation, it’s like bold patterns, edgy cuts, and innovative embroidery is the enemy of the … Continue reading →
I still remember two years ago when the Met Gala‘s theme was China: Through the Looking Glass and half of the fashionable C-stars were in Manhattan for the coveted event. For the 2017 Met Gala only actress Yang Mi and model Liu Wen walked the red carpet for an evening celebrating the groundbreaking fashion of famed Commes Des Garcon head … Continue reading →
Sudden wedding announcement and surprising pregnancy isn’t the only relationship bombshell this week in K-ent, on the same day Lee Dong Gun and Jo Yoon Hee took their relationship to the next level there was news that a new couple had been formed. The rumor started that 29 year old actress Oh Yeon Seo was dating 27 year old actor … Continue reading →
This wedding announcement takes the cake this year for greatest initial shock followed by a collective shoulder shrug. Former drama costars turned real life couple Lee Dong Gun and Jo Yoon Hee have announced that they are legally married and are expecting a baby later this year. The shock of the announcement comes from the couple only dating for three … Continue reading →
Capitalism means that as long as there is a buyer then there is a seller and the transaction fine as long as it’s legal. When it comes to disgraced stars I always think as long as he or she has fans then there is a market for their wares. The last two years have not been easy for singer-actor Kim … Continue reading →
I’m getting similar vibes for upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs drama Suspicious Partner as I did for recently concluding jTBC drama Strong Woman Do Bong Soon. Peppy posters with a cute female lead and a harangued male lead wrapped in pretty colorful poster wrappings. It’s billed as a rom-com but the central plot has a serial killer danger looming, which was an … Continue reading →
K-ent is making up for last year’s comparably lack of sizzle on the wedding front by already hitting Taiwan’s star wedding output from last year and we’re only halfway through 2017. This past weekend announcers Oh Sang Jin and Kim So Young got married in a star-studded Seoul hotel wedding, while way down South actress Yoon Jin Seo tied the … Continue reading →
Congrats to Yang Mi for winning the Best Actress award for the Chinese film Reset this past weekend at the Houston Worldfest International Film Festival. It’s the 50th year of the festival and this year the Asian films were quite prominent in the line up which is no surprise as China has become the second largest market for movies. Yang … Continue reading →
This weekend was the star-studded wedding of famous Korean annoucing and MC couple Oh Sang Jin and Kim So Young, both super photogenic and quite popular in the industry judging by the parade of famous faces and names in attendance. Entertainers don’t necessarily need to marry within the industry to make it work but having a same profession spouse does … Continue reading →
Fantasy elements continue to dominant in recent K-dramas, from W: Two Worlds to Goblin and the forthcoming Bride of the Water. KBS has lined up another one for fall of 2017 called Black Knight and will tell the fantasy romance between a man and two woman spanning centuries. That’s all the synopsis says so far, peeps, so try not to … Continue reading →
Space may be the final frontier but I have yet to see Asian entertainment really produce space themes shows or movies. This year may be going into uncharted territory with a space genre K-drama in the works, and on the C-ent side actress Liu Shi Shi represented in London this weekend for the Omega Watch “Lost in Space” event with … Continue reading →
Taiwanese entertainment and cultural news was rocked heading into this weekend with news that a beautiful and best-selling first time young author had committed suicide. 26 year old Lin Yi Han hanged herself in her bedroom and was discovered by her husband of two years. Her debut novel Fang Si Chi’s First Love Paradise was just published in February of … Continue reading →
