It’s hard to envision anyone looking sexy mid-yawn, and then there is So Ji Sub. He not only looks sexy yawning like he doesn’t give a fug, he also looks sardonically amused in that cool bad boy style of his. It’s nearing two years since his last drama with The Master’s Sun, though he’s done a Jeju web drama with … Continue reading →
When Office Girls wrapped up its 2011-2012 insanely popular run on SETTV, I was ready to let the drama go thinking that there will be plenty of other opportunities to watch leads Roy Qiu and Alice Ke in future great projects. Boy was I wrong as neither has done anything in the four years since that have remotely touched the … Continue reading →
While it’s not a surprise to hear that popular or well regarded screenwriters have pending dramas in the works, it’s always a relief to get some concrete information to look forward to. The Girl Who Sees Smells is a perfect example of everything clicking but for the writing of the drama, and in that case that everything else managed to … Continue reading →
Casting is firming up for upcoming big-budget Chinese-Korean joint produced movie Bounty Hunter, but beyond the two popular male leads I’m not sure anything else is needed to lure in the eyeballs. This movie made the news last week for being Hallyu superstar Lee Min Ho‘s comeback project for 2015, and may or may not be his last work prior … Continue reading →
It sucks for an entertainer to make the news for a fashion faux pas, which is amplified if the event is a large scale one like the Shanghai Film Festival, and made triple worse if the fashion fail isn’t even because the outfit was ugly. C-actress Tang Yan, who is having the career high of her life in the last … Continue reading →
The see-sawing promo materials for upcoming SBS weekend drama The Time I Loved You is seriously giving me whiplash. It wouldn’t be as frustrating if the drama was just an original work, but it’s supposed to be the official K-adaptation of the popular TW-drama In Time With You, so the promos understandably take on an additional layer of scrutiny. I … Continue reading →
Filming has quietly begun on upcoming KBS drama Descendants of the Sun, with the two leads Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki spotted filming in Seoul this week. The drama will be almost entirely set overseas, but the filming location will be a bit in Seoul (standing in for overseas) with mostly a location shoot that hasn’t yet been revealed … Continue reading →
Not every celebrity selfie is equal, and the adage is probably the more the merrier as solo shots can come off a bit self-absorbed. That’s why the Running Man casts selfie with recent surprise guests Song Joong Ki, Jo In Sung, and Im Joo Hwan are the very definition of total wins. The giddiness is through the roof at the … Continue reading →
June 13th is a happy day for K-ent married star couple Lee Bo Young and Ji Sung as they welcomed the arrival of their first child, a healthy little baby girl. I feel like it’s been forever since Lee Bo Young announced her pregnancy, mostly due to so much going on with her husband Ji Sung’s career during the time … Continue reading →
It’s probably safe now to assume that the upcoming K-version of In Time With You will be completely different than the original. I didn’t love the original so it’s fine with me, but I think those who did might want to skip The Time I Loved You unless one goes in with an open mind with the wholesale reinvention. I’m … Continue reading →
I’ve waited a long time for this comeback, probably as much as I anticipate the next drama return for my favorite actor or actress. Screenwriter So Hyun Kyung isn’t my absolute favorite writer but she’s up there in my esteem. Her strength is the human soulful element and her weakness is cohesive intensity and narrative pacing. What sets her apart … Continue reading →
I don’t follow K-actress Han Hye Jin‘s career even though I’ve actually watched so many of her dramas, but I love this latest news too much not tos hare. Her breakout hit from a decade ago Be Strong Geum Soon is one of my favorite daily dramas ever, except it was less her and more due to Kang Ji Hwan. … Continue reading →
I already gushed about Lotte Duty Free pairing up Hallyu stars Park Shin Hye and recently out of the military Yoo Seung Ho as their latest spokescouple, but there is a new batch of way too cute stills that merit a repeat gush session. It looks like this pairing is here to stay, at least through the end of the … Continue reading →
