A Koala's Playground Posted on by

The 2014 drama year in C-ent didn’t just end with hilarious Cleavage-gate around The Empress of China, the much dreaded Yu Zheng adaptation of Return of the Condor Heroes (English drama title of this version is called Romance of the Condor Heroes) arrived and promptly confirmed the validity behind all the casting hullabaloo last year over Michelle Chen being cast as Xiaolongnu, … Continue reading →

Third Preview for Hyde, Jekyll, Me Showcase Tons of Romantic and Confrontational OTP Moments

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

The upcoming Hyde, Jekyll, Me is bring promoted like the Hyun Bin–Han Ji Min two person show. I’d probably watch the drama even if it was the Hyun Bin one man show, but it’s a bit of  waste to have a full cast consisting of other charismatic actors like Sung Joon and Han Sang Jin without showing a peek at … Continue reading →

Yoon Eun Hye Spotted in Beijing Filming After Love with Park Shi Hoo

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I like to keep a casual eye on all my fave actors and actresses even if I don’t keep tabs on on their every move. Checking back in with Yoon Eun Hye after the new year saw updates from her filming the Korean-Chinese joint production movie After Love in Beijing with costar Park Shi Hoo. The two leads were filming … Continue reading →

The Busty Empress of China Gets Edited for Online Episodes as Well

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

It’s been a week since Cleavage-gate erupted on the C-entertainment webs and shows no sign of abating. The whole kerfluffle started two weeks ago when the popular currently airing period C-drama The Empress of China (武媚娘传奇) was suddenly yanked off the air with a lame sounding “technical difficulties” explanation. It returned to the airwaves right after the new year with … Continue reading →

Lee Min Ho Majorly Works the Fanservice at Movie Premiere for Gangnam 1970

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Normally a K-movie premiere only gets my attention for the fashion parade of top stars attending to support their buddies in the cast. For once my attention is completely on male lead Lee Min Ho at the bustling premiere for his soon-to-be-released noir movie Gangnam 1970 costarring Kim Rae Won. I haven’t seen this level of top star fandom interaction … Continue reading →

Those in Korea the mood for a cheery energetic rom-com will have a choice in Love Forecast (Today’s Love) premiering next week on January 15th. It’ll be a nice way to warm up the cold weather for couples heading to the theater, I’m already getting cute and sweet vibes from the previews and posters. Leads Lee Seung Gi and Moon … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

D-day has arrived in the halls of the Chinese domestic viewing experience and the howls of rage and sadness abound. Late last year in 2014, the almighty SARFT (State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film) issued one of its inexplicable decrees concerning what can be aired in China whether on the big screen, televisions, and even internet viewing portals. This … Continue reading →

Mnet Premieres Intriguing Music Drama Persevere Gu Hae Ra this Friday

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

The upcoming Mnet music drama Persevere Gu Hae Ra, which actually premieres moments away on January 9th, is one of those offerings that calls to me regardless of who is or isn’t cast just because the story interests me. It’s the music channel’s follow up to Monstar, a drama I loved to pieces even if it never reached full potential. … Continue reading →

Pinocchio Episode 17 Recap

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

This was a talk heavy episode of Pinocchio, one that raises the stakes yet again for the price to pay to do the right thing. I’m not sure the drama will bring in new viewers this late in the game, especially for an episode so dense with moral discourse, but for those watching since the beginning this is the stuff … Continue reading →

Romantic Couple Stills and New Preview for Hyde, Jekyll, Me

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Of the two multiple personality K-dramas, Hyde, Jekyll, Me is more of a slow burn in revving up my interest. With that said, it’s still keeping me curious about it as more and more teasers drop with less than two weeks before it airs. Starring Hyun Bin in his first K-drama in four years since Secret Garden, the less is … Continue reading →

MBC Relieved as Episode 1 of Kill Me Heal Me has Decent Premiere Ratings

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Score one for MBC on a little victory. When the bigger probability was complete abject failure, a victory however little is something the network must feel relieved about. Kill Me Heal Me premiered on Wednesday (don’t spoil episode 1 for me, I’ve yet to watch!) continuing the current trend of very few prime time dramas debuting in the double digits. Even … Continue reading →

Pinocchio Episode 16 Recap

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

A few weeks away from recapping Pinocchio only heightens my appreciation for how thoughtful this drama is in having a meaningful execution of the main conflicts. In so many ways, the romance is one of the sweetest I’ve watched, yet it unfortunately resides on the sidelines now because the righteous reporting narrative is just that compelling. It’s nothing to complain … Continue reading →
