My initial interest in this drama is from the casting of the three female leads but reading more about it ahead of this weekend’s premiere made me realize there is way more critically acclaimed reasons to check out tvN drama Little Women. Aside from the title borrowed from the classic novel and the story also has sisters, nothing else is similar and it’s billed as a mystery thriller with the three sisters played by Kim Go Eun, Nam Ji Hyun, and Park Ji Hoo investigating and coming up against a rich and powerful family and force. The screenwriter is the reason to watch for sure – it’s Jung Seo Kyung who has only written one K-drama other than this and it’s the K-drama adaptation of J-dorama Mother. But her resume is way more packed on the movie sides as most recently she wrote Cannes darling Decision to Leave and other earlier works include The Handmaiden, Thirst, and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. She basically knows how to write strong women and really weird but fascinating situations. This is also a dual female production team project as the PD is Kim Hee Won who is coming off the mega hit Vincenzo. Check out the action packed 5-minute long preview below and get ready as Little Women airs this coming Sat-Sun in the time slot vacated by Alchemy of Souls.
