Zhao Lu Si and Liu Yu Ning Look Great Together and Continue Strong Costar Chemistry in New BTS Filming Pictures From C-drama The Legend of Jewelry

Filming is still underway for Tang dynasty period C-drama The Legend of Jewelry, which takes former second lead costars Zhao Lu Si and Liu Yu Ning from The Long Ballad and gives them the level up to leads for this big budget drama. Not gonna lie, I am so pumped for this drama it’s not even funny, especially on the heel of not feeling Lu Si’s last drama The Last Immortal and also probably not going to see Liu Yu Ning’s finished drama Prisoner of Beauty anytime soon or ever. I love seeing this filming stills so whomever from their fandom got it thank you for doing the drama gods work and giving us all sneak peeks haha. I like the costuming even if early drama Lu Si is playing a downtrodden character and looks quite humble and plain. She can still radiate so much charisma and cuteness even in a potato sack.

  1. Prisoner of Beauty T___T ~ I do hope the melons of it doing a sudden air drop next month are true. >_< Coz the most is doing reshoots with a different actress, like what they're doing with Yuan Bingyuan's drama.

  2. I bet their fans are excited about this pairing except the usual fans who complains about every or any thing in regards to her pairings.

      • That is also true… Both fandoms are aggressive and protective, if drama does not do well, they will shift blame….

      • LYN looks really good in period drama, more better than his everyday looks. His singing is great too. I first saw him in Long Ballad, and liked his dreamy look.

  3. Those costumes look cheap.

I can’t wait for the drama to start, I have a whole truck of popcorn ready for when they start slinging mud at each other.

  4. I can’t wait for this drama! These fan caps are so great, we get to see glimpses of what it will be like.

Loved this couple in Long ballad and now they’re finally getting more screen time.

Plus I am super happy for LYN getting main roles now ❤️

  5. If the script and the directing are something as good as Love Like the Galaxy, then I’ll buy in. ZLS can deliver. Otherwise, I don’t want to waste time to see another version of the hero for A journey to Love. The ML character was so fake and cringy! LOL.

    • Lol glad I’m not the only one who dislikes the ML in A Journey to Love. Everyone was singing praises about him, and then there’s me thinking the scriptwriter tried too hard to make the male lead so “perfect” he turned out so fake and boring. Moreover, LYN’s face is not my type either.

      • LYN as the ML in A Journey to Love is overrated. Only characters with obvious flaws but actors making them nuanced and likable are attractive. Not LYN in the AJtL though. AJtL is the only drama of him as a ML I’ve watched so far. He’s absolutely done nothing on me in his dramas as supporting roles. Therefore, I can’t say if he’s good or just so-so. For me, the jury is still out regarding his acting. I’ll see if he can deliver in this new drama.

      • @Yuhyi, ahha! Alen Fang! LOL. Sorry I did not recognize the spelling immediately. Yup! But that’s also bcos Alen Fang is a better actor than LYN IMO. I wonder if LYN has strong backing to get him this far while AF lacks connections. It’s how business works in China. Nepotism and political connections are critical in doing business in other industries. I think the same applies to showbiz. For example, why a corrupt artist managing company Yuehua can stay so manipulative in the business while the company has been financially doing well. LOL. Some powerful folk is keeping Yuehua’s head above the water. LOL.

  6. LYN’s aesthetics and acting just doesn’t appeal to me. I feel he is getting more hype for being picked on and garnering sympathy than merited, but eh.

It’s ZLS, I’m sure she’ll make it work (though her alone isn’t enough to make me finish that drama with Dilraba and Wu Lei.) And I detested LYN’s acting in there – too swarmy IMO

    • Yeah, “smarmy” is the right word to describe LYN and his “acting” and looks. I don’t get his appeal either, but he keeps getting leading roles even though he can’t act, it’s puzzling. Between him and ZLH, you wonder if C-ent is running out of actors…

      • Yes… and I watched videos stating that he sort of PUA or tried to gain sympathy on live about his looks which is quite annoying lol.

      • Cent isn’t running out of actors, that’s the sad part of this whole thing.

Take Alen Feng. Compared to LYN he is a superior actor by miles, hotter too and it still doesn’t do him any good. Cent doesn’t promote quality. It’s all about getting into the right circle and getting the right backing.

      • OMG “smarmy!” The word is close to how I feel about his acting and do not like his character that much in MJtY. I always feel somehow a bit turned off by his character in MJtY, but couldn’t find simple wording to describe it.

If he continues to exude that aura in other dramas, then surely that’s his acting style which is not to my liking. Otherwise, that might be just one drama where the character demanded the kind of acting, not his fault.

    • As I knew him as a singer long before he became a actor… even as a singer, I never warm to him. Thus when i watch his drama… I cannot connect with his characters. I rather Dylan then him, even if Dylan is also not a great actor…but I can feel Dylan’s warmth.

    • @Coralie Omgee, that’s how I felt like too. I like LYN, but felt like he got more hyped for getting picked on and garnering sympathy.

  7. @Shrug – I like Alen Fang too, but he is lacking in height… The drama he is ML is a flop. LYN acting is passable to me, better than the boring Xu Kai and the pretentious Chen (forgot his full name, the one in CP4). When LYN is in supporting roles, people said why can’t he be the ML… now he is the ML, others complain. Anyways, LYN has not had any major flops yet. He will stay, at least in costume dramas which he looks very good in with his tall figure.

      • Are you sure 182 is his true height? Do you measure him?? He looks much shorter than GJ (186cm) in Unique Lady. LYN is over 189. No need to argue about cm or inches really. The point is Alen Fang still cannot nail many ML roles. I know he has an international fan base, especially in Japan, which cannot help him much unfortunately.

      • @Emily, BTW, I think Alen Fan is about 182 cm. He looked almost the same tall as Xiao Zhan when standing by him in The Longest Promise. Everyone knows Xiao Zhan doesn’t lie about his height of 183.6 cm. Talking about height in this case doesn’t make your points out that LYN is a better ML than Alen Fang cos LYN hasn’t proven the case with just one drama AJtL to many fans. He needs more work to vindicate himself.

    • @Emily, we’re not watching NBA. LOL. 182 cm is decent in height. Many well known western actors like Robert De Niro and Tom Cruise aren’t that tall at all. Acting skills and charisma are most important. At least I found out many ppl who had watched AJtL don’t appreciate LYN that much as Alen Fang and consider LYN overrated.
