I think most long time drama watchers know that K-actress Kim Tae Hee has been the unmoving consensus among K-ent and K-netizens for her Top Beauty. This week there is an article discussing the successor to the Top Beauty Per Decade and the feeling that there is no consensus decision. In the 1980’s the pick was Hwang Shin Hye, and … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

The entirety of jTBC drama Snowdrop‘s existence felt like someone intentionally set out to create a drama that can upset the most amount of people while actually thinking it was doing a work of art. Even to the very end, the story conclusion was as expected to the veteran drama watchers (there was no other ending possible), but for those … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

A little oxtail baby has arrived straddling both TW-ent and J-ent and it was legit a total surprise even in the tabloid heavy ways in those news cycles. The Japan-ification of K-drama Posters Manages to Rom-com Everything with an Unhealthy Love of Pink and Hearts

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

This is such an entertaining side-by-side study and makes me appreciate more that at least K-dramas try to reign in themselves when designing drama posters. Since Winter Sonata twenty years ago hit the shores of Japan and planted itself firmly in the watching oeuvre of the Japanese audience, K-dramas have been exported there regularly and with great success from time-to-time. … Continue reading →

I don’t think this is a huge faux pas but it definitely let the cat out of the bag. This weekend K-actress Uhm Ji Won shared a V-log of her and another friend celebrating Park Shin Hye‘s pregnancy, probably an early baby shower of sorts. Park Shin Hye is clearly surprised and super happy, she’s just been radiating joy for … Continue reading →

If there is one fallen celeb I want to yeet himself right off the celeb stage it would be Big Bang‘s Seungri. The post-Squid Game craze in the US around movie actor Lee Jung Jae has finally died down after the holidays and I’m glad because it was so weird to see US reporters hyping him when he’s been a TOP STAR in Korea for two decades. I’m glad he got the chance at Western audience popularity and it’ll be interesting to … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

If Seo Ye Ji can make an acting return no reason for Kim Jung Hyun not to try. Kim Jung Hyun has changed agencies finally after last year when he tried … Continue reading →

jTBC Drama Snowdrop Ends This Weekend and So Does My Regular Date with Jung Hae In’s Biceps and Emotive Eyes

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

It’s kinda ironic that after all that hullabaloo around jTBC Sat-Sun drama Snowdrop it will likely end with a whimper and a sigh. No one protesting and not much people watching left. It’s okay though, the ardent fans can still cheer on their Jisoo and the casual fans hopefully get a satisfying ending for those who like the story. I’ve … Continue reading →
