I was happy to see hardworking Park Bo Gum win yet another tvN time slot as Record of Youth premiered to the highest network time slot ratings for Mon-Tues, but after watching I realized viewers must’ve watched for the leads because I was so bored with the story and pacing. Episode 2 thankfully picked up, thanks to the leads meeting … Continue reading →
I don’t fault Lee Joon for looking like a happy schoolboy in the picture above, it must be totally cool to be in the presence and get to work with K-ent heavyweights. Filming is starting for Netflix sci-fi K-drama Sea of Silence (Sea of Tranquility) adapted from a short film. It will be executive produced by actor Jung Woo Sung … Continue reading →
I think the concept was – make the clothes on the boring side so the shoes become the center of attention. This is a footwear CF after all, and modeling it is actress Song Hye Kyo who I don’t know how she does it but she looks good in everything. These new stills are part 2 of the earlier ones … Continue reading →
I just realized that Park Bo Gum has now officially won every single tvN drama time slot and he’s still so young! His new drama Record of Youth premiered today to take over the Mon-Tues time period and the first episode took in 6.362% ratings. It’s the highest ratings for tvN on the Mon-Tues block, and marks Park Bo Gum’s … Continue reading →
I’ve been re-watching K-dramas recently, kinda like a time travel backwards to whatever floats my fancy. An episode here, a few fast-forward to my favorite scenes there, one of the oldies but goodies I revisited was While You Were Sleeping. The impetus came when I saw the new drama stills for upcoming drama Start-Up, as it’s by the same screenwriter … Continue reading →
I can’t get over how silly yet adorable Jung Yumi‘s monster hunting/vanquishing weapon of choice is in the upcoming Netflix drama The School Nurse Files (School Nurse Ahn Eun Young). It’s a sailor moon color scheme light saber is the best way to describe it, and kid sized to boot. I don’t think this drama will have genuinely scary monsters … Continue reading →
I’m so glad to see more viewers getting into SBS Fri-Sat drama Alice, though the downside is enduring the weekly wait with us all now. This weekend’s episode 3-4 continued the great starting momentum of the opening two episodes and dropped enough new information to keep me content. Joo Won‘s Jin Gyeom is my favorite character (he’s the proxy for … Continue reading →
Upcoming tvN drama Record of Youth already has a big name cast with Park Bo Gum and Park So Dam as the leads plus up and coming Byun Woo Seok. Let’s not forget that the reason K-ent covered this drama so much even before the casting was with the collaboration between the screenwriter of Temperature of Love, Doctors, One Warm … Continue reading →
Streaming giant Netflix continues onward with drama investment and production especially on the heels of COVID-19 when onscreen entertainment is mostly streaming with movie theaters closed or limited. The platform is adapting the manhwa D.P. (Deserter Pursuit) into a K-drama scheduled to premiere in 2021. The male leads will be Jung Hae In along with Kim Sung Kyun, Son Seok … Continue reading →
Awwwww, after that amazing guest starring turn as a mental patient in It’s Okay to be Okay, I was hoping for the warm and cuddly side of Kwak Dong Yeon for his next drama. But it’s going to be his crazy and dark side, which he pulls off very well because he’s just that good of an actor. Kwak Dong … Continue reading →
This totally looks like SBS is trying to do their own version of Sky Castle which is fine but the writing better be airtight. Casting is confirming and production heads underway for the next Mon-Tues drama Penthouse, with a clown car full of names in the cast. Starring Kim So Yeon, Lee Ji Ah, Eugene, Shin Eun Kyung, Eom Ki … Continue reading →
Filming was halted on the production of jTBC drama More Than Friends (Number of Cases) so it’s not clear yet if the drama will premiere next Friday as it takes over the time slot from Graceful Friends. Staring Ong Seung Woo and Shin Ye Eun, the drama feels like a slighter younger version of those dramas where the male leads … Continue reading →
I’m lulzing so hard at how the production team of upcoming fantasy drama Tale of Gumiho wants to visually portray the modern day gumiho men. It’s like a combination young gangster and bad boy male hostess at a uber exclusive bar for Gangnam wives. Yes yes, my description is oddly specific but it was just the image that comes to … Continue reading →
