Rest is for suckers may be Jang Nara‘s philosophy because she hasn’t even wrapped filming for her ending soon SBS Wed-Thurs drama An Empress’s Dignity and she’s already in talks for another K-drama. She’s been offered the leading lady role in an upcoming also SBS drama called VIP. It’s an office setting drama about a group of women who encounter … Continue reading →
This isn’t huge huge K-drama news but there are K-drama fans everywhere in the world and I’m sure someone will be excited to hear a big budget high profile drama is coming to their neck of the woods to film. tvN sageuk Asadal Chronicles has set out this week for an extended overseas location shoot in Brunei. Male lead Song … Continue reading →
Streaming and rental entertainment giant Netflix got into K-dramas in a big way starting off 2019 with the well-received first season of zombie sageuk drama Kingdom. The second season for Kingdom is underway in filming but arriving before that will be two more Netflix produced K-dramas that veer in the opposite genre direction. There’s Love Alarm, based on a webtoon … Continue reading →
I wrote about the current and coming K-actor military discharges and now there’s another news about a casting already lined up for a talented male lead. Kang Ha Neul has been offered the male lead role in warm and mysterious drama Camellia Blooms which has been linked to Gong Hyo Jin as the female lead. There’s actually three male leads … Continue reading →
I felt the drama title for OCN thriller Kill It was a tad too over but when I hear male lead Jang Ki Yong say “Kill it” in the teaser it totally brought shivers down my spine. Kill It continues the OCN strength with genre dramas and this one promotes to leading man status two very good looking young actors … Continue reading →
Most Korean idols and even actors/actresses are dressed by coordis so it’s hard to truly know their own fashion style. K-actress Gong Hyo Jin is someone who has consistently for two decades exhibited her own unique dressing that suits her lithe model frame perfectly. I’m so glad that her style still gets her plenty of clothing endorsements because she doesn’t … Continue reading →
The older I get the less incline I am to even watch a drama or movie that just sounds supremely depressing right off the bat. Yes yes, I know it may herald an uplifting and meaningful story but goodness it comes with a bucket of tears already that just brings my viewing mood down. The premise of upcoming jTBC melodrama … Continue reading →
I find the drama title rather random but the casting sounds promising enough. Park Hae Jin and Jo Boa will be pairing up for upcoming rom-com drama Secret set in the world of a 119 emergency hotline special rescue team. It will be Park Hae Jin’s first rom-com drama since his debut if you count Famous Chil Princesses as a … Continue reading →
I see K-netizens frequently talking about male actors who have aged like fine wine, and genuinely look better in their forties than during their gawkier twenties days. Or it could be that fashion and styling from the 90s doesn’t age well, lol. But the same is totally true for K-actress Song Hye Kyo who is celebrating her 22nd year in … Continue reading →
Filming is still underway for the fully pre-produced upcoming tvN sageuk drama Asadal Chronicles with Song Joong Ki, Kim Ji Won, Jang Dong Gun, and Kim Ok Bin and its clear the production team is mapping out a new strategy. K-ent is reporting that Asadal will be broadcast in “seasons” which is how US shows air, and also how the Netflix produced … Continue reading →
The surprising early on success of SBS Wed-Thurs drama An Empress’s Dignity has let to the network ill-advisedly deciding on an extension, coming at a time when it’s ratings have dropped and now been eclipsed by KBS drama What’s Up Poong Sang (Liver or Die). Empress was a wacky over-the-top romp from the beginning starting with character actor Tae Hang … Continue reading →
J-actress Ishihara Satomi is doing her best to bring the feel of Dutch painter Johann Vermeer to life as she attended the opening exhibition of his works at the Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts. She’s the voice guide for his exhibition which was earlier in Tokyo at the Ueno Royal Museum for three months. For that opening she wore … Continue reading →
Now this is a potential drama pairing straight outta “come again, what now?” territory. Yeo Jin Goo, who is currently headlining the hit tvN sageuk The Crowned Clown, is reportedly in talks for the Hong Sisters‘ upcoming fantasy drama Hotel de Luna. The leading lady is the already confirmed IU so I’m leaning towards Yeo Jin Goo passing because I … Continue reading →
