First comes marriage then comes baby, or in the case of the just married stars Yang Mi and Hawick Lau it might’ve been the other way around. The high profile celebrity couple tied the knot last week in Bali with a small tight knit group of family and friends, but the C-media has been abuzz since their engagement was announced … Continue reading →
I’m always amused by the dating gossip coming out of Taiwan entertainment. There is a noticeable lack of fake pearl clutching that happens in Korea where even the suggestion of dating is called a “scandal”. Even when a celebrity couple is pretty much widely acknowledged as dating but refuse to publicly confirm it, their fans shrug and the media just … Continue reading →
I have a mostly love relationship with Jang Geun Seok. Even his last few years of strange musical choices and a rather party heavy lifestyle has only rendered me disappointed that he’s not honing his acting craft and instead indulging his youthful predilections. Nothing wrong with that but without a great drama or character under his belt it’s hard to … Continue reading →
Who’s having a birthday! Not so baby boy anymore Lego Lee is who! Smack in the middle of the hottest drama of his career in In A Good Way, Lego celebrated his 28th birthday on January 19th with 100 of his fans. He paid for the fan party himself and despite the 7000 fans who wanted to attend only 100 … Continue reading →
Thanks to the media savvy folks at MBC, the second season of We Got Married: Global Edition kicked off its filming on January 15th and immediately we get a first look at the interesting coupling of popular Korean boyband Super Junior member Kim Heechul and up-and-coming Taiwanese girl group Dream Girls member Puff Guo (Guo Xue Fu). The TW-media already … Continue reading →
Normally an actor or actress moves agencies is not really worth writing about but the recent moves of three Korean actresses merits a mention since it might have a big impact on their acting careers in the new year with a look back at their recent career trajectory. First up is Lee Da Hae (My Girl, Chuno, IRIS 2) who … Continue reading →
Okay, this I gotta watch. Season 2 of the Global edition of Korean variety program We Got Married is about to kick off filming soon and the casting has just been leaked. I watched the first season purely for the hilarity and cuteness that was Taecyeon of 2PM and Gui Gui (Wu Ying Jie) and those two did not disappoint in … Continue reading →
The lead up to the the first big C-celebrity wedding of 2014 has been nothing shy of a media overload. I was getting exhausted by all the Yang Mi–Hawick Lau wedding preparations even though its only been less than two months since they announced their wedding, which we all remember was on the same high profile news day that Nicky … Continue reading →
I confess to not noticing the age gap in the OTP in Prime Minister and I. It’s not being blind to Lee Bum Soo being much older than Yoona, it just doesn’t stand out in the context of their characters or interactions. I see a closed off man with emotional baggage from a past marriage and a spirited woman falling … Continue reading →
In a low-key and unsurprising development, Mike He celebrated his birthday recently and revealed that he’s been exempt from Taiwan’s mandatory military service, making him the last of the group of male idol stars including Joe Cheng, Ethan Ruan, and Ming Dao who delayed their service until the very end of the age limit. While the other three all served … Continue reading →
Ariel Lin has been taking a sabbatical from her red-hot acting career to pursue a lifelong dream to study abroad. Since September of 2013 she’s been in London doing a graduate program but has been updating her social media accounts regularly so her fans are still getting updates on her non-acting life as a regular student. I’ve also seen Ariel … Continue reading →
This almost isn’t worth writing about because it might be one of the worst kept “secrets” among K-ent dating celebrities. One would have to ignore mountains of evidence to believe that long rumored couple Jung Kyung Ho and Sooyoung of SNSD were not dating as per their agencies pooh-pooh-ing all the past tabloid reports. I guess the third time’s the … Continue reading →
Last year on New Year’s day of 2013, K-ent was rocked with the stunning and out-of-nowhere news that Hallyu superstar and abtastic Rain was dating brainy A-list actress Kim Tae Hee. It really was a WTF moment to hear the news, not that I wasn’t happy for them but the general “where the heck did this come from” confusion. I … Continue reading →
