I blame Autumn in my Heart for my Song Seung Heon love, and now I can blame it’s C-drama remake Fall in Love for my Hans Zhang crush. The boy is as close to a mini Heon oppa as I’ve ever seen, just as cute and equally cannot act. Clearly made just for me to swoon over. Hmmmm, yummy. I … Continue reading →
Episode 1 of Skip Beat got a critical drubbing from TW-netizens for Choi Siwon‘s dubbed voice as Dun He Lian, which was performed by Kun Da. It’s so bad that today the production officially announced that it will be redubbing Siwon’s voice in the drama, despite the fact that Kun Da is almost done with his recording for the entire … Continue reading →
The currently filming modern C-drama Angel (literal translation An Angel’s Happiness) released the first set of official stills today. Co-starring Liu Shi Shi and Ming Dao, the drama is situated in a little island off the South China Sea coast and the provincial setting recalls shades of Thank You for me when coupled with the character descriptions. In this drama, Ming … Continue reading →
While the rest of the Sunday night competition drama casts are off celebrating Christmas since their dramas wrapped awhile ago, the cast of Office Girls is working through Christmas Eve and continuing into Christmas day. As such, the production decided to do a white elephant gift exchange with the gift value limited at NT200 (equivalent to about $7). Everyone thinks … Continue reading →
RIM just announced lower than expected forecast for next quarter, and the slew of bad news has been dogging the company for the past year since it’s unable to keep up with the smart phone market. One of the digs against RIM is that it just doesn’t “get it”, doesn’t understand cultural shifts, get onboard with the correct trends so … Continue reading →
Another TW-drama starting filming today and the cast attended a media event since it’s never too early to drum up interest. Co-starring as the leads are Cheryl Yang and Sunny Wang, the latter having shot to stardom with a supporting role in In Time With You with Ariel Lin. This drama is called Sweet Magic Bus (甜蜜魔幻巴士) which is a … Continue reading →
Today was the premiere of a new TW-drama, a daily called Inborn Pair (alternate English title is called True Love) starring Annie Chen and Chris Wang. I watched tons of trailers and BTS of the drama last week (didn’t post about it) and enjoyed it all very much. A daily TW-drama consists of 45-minute episodes every weekday and tends to … Continue reading →
Unless you know your source material, this poster for the upcoming Taiwanese drama Skip Beat isn’t going to make any sense with respect to Ivy Chen wearing a eye-hurting bright pink jumpsuit and carrying a chicken costume head in her hand while making an “L” gesture with her other hand. But if you’ve read the manga, she’s exactly as I … Continue reading →
Ariel Lin and Bolin Chen stumbled their way to an expected and well-earned happy ending in today’s final episode of In Time With You. It was no surprise they will end up together, but viewers cared about the how, wanting their journey to feel complete. The production released these final batch of official stills for the fans to savor and … Continue reading →
Apple Daily released its list of the top ten money-making Taiwanese entertainers in 2011, five from each gender. The results are interesting purely from a curiosity perspective, since how much I like an actress or actor has no correlation to how much money they bring in. Nicky Wu leads the pack amongst all the male Taiwanese actors, with all his … Continue reading →
Methinks someone is getting really comfortable making C-dramas. Hot on the heels of Jo Hyun Jae wrapping his first C-drama, the period Rouge Hegemon, and returning to Korea, he’s just been confirmed as the lead for another upcoming C-drama. This time it’s a modern drama called Youth Storm, and centers around the the students at an aristocratic university in China … Continue reading →
Initially I was just keeping an eye on the currently filming TW-drama Inborn Pair (Chinese title 真愛找麻煩 which means either “true love looks for trouble” for “loves looking for trouble”) with Chris Wang and Annie Chen, because the premise of a couple betrothed in the womb was curiously old-fashioned plus I liked the fresh pairing of Chris and Annie. The first … Continue reading →
Just three weeks out from the premiere of what might be the crackiest drama to come along in a good long while, GTV is ramping up its promotions for Skip Beat, which will take over the time slot soon to be vacated by In Time With You. The network is holding a fan vote for which among four posters will … Continue reading →
