If I were a professor I would absolutely be an easy grader. If you try hard sincerely and the output shows that effort I would acknowledge it, in that sense I’m not very black/white in life or in entertainment offerings. I’ve liked plenty of objectively bad movies and dramas because I enjoyed certain elements of it enough to overlook the … Continue reading →
“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.” No I’m not alleging producer Yu Zheng copied Pride and Prejudice, and even Little Women, but he definitely has assembled the premise of a mom in olden times trying to marry off her daughters. In this case there … Continue reading →
It’s off with the hair pieces and ancient costumes for Xu Kai and Deng En Xi. At the end of the day, the core of any good drama remains the Story, it has to grip the viewers to give it tens of episodes to unfold and take us on a journey. If Wang Xing Yue ever needs extra money he can be a professional dubber for other actors, but it’s already a boon for viewers that he dubs his own dialogue in most of his dramas. I’m not a true data nerd but it’s always useful to have hard numbers to look at rather than a general sense of buzz. Datawin released it’s most anticipated C-dramas list this week so as of mid-November these are the dramas that are getting the most searches and chatter online. Number one goes to The Immortal Ascension (A Mortal’s Guide … Continue reading →
If producer Yu Zheng being such a troll online is intentional and meant to keep him always in topics of conversation then he’s doing a good job. It premiered and then a week later the two-headed beast that was The Story of Pearl Girl and Love Game in Eastern Fantasy arrived to suck all the attention into their top drama actress battle. But there is and always will … Continue reading →
