A Koala's Playground Posted on by

You’re not there yet boy, haha, way to early to be doing stuff like this. I’m talking about C-actor Wang Hong Yi, who has two back-to-back dramas airing with The Legend of Heroes where he is paired up with Huang Yi in an actual love line between their characters Yang Kang and Mu Nian Ci and in Lost You Forever … Continue reading →

Producer Yu Zheng Writes Long Post Criticizing Actress Li Meng’s Behavior on The Double Set But Praising Her for Admitting Mistakes and Delivering a Great Performance

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Sometimes I wonder what Yu Zheng is thinking because he seems to just needs attention and creates new topics of discussion. Last week he caused backlash on actress Li Meng who he cast as the antagonist princess in his drama The Double with a very long and overly wordy spiel about her pros and cons. She was not the first … Continue reading →

Lost You Forever Part 2 Premieres to Record Setting Tencent Heat Index and Announces Episode Length Increase to 23 from 21

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I feel like Lost You Forever Part 2 arrived almost breathlessly but then took deep breaths to calm down. The first 6 episodes released so far have been motoring through plot points but also quite emotionally downer for everyone involved, other than spoiled her brains out but sweet little chirpy Ah Nian. Cang Xuan gets the throne and a shit … Continue reading →

A Blood Splattered Reckoning is Coming as Lost You Forever Part 2 Gears Up for Premiere with Intense New Stills

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I feel like everything I read and translated in Lost You Forever the novel came to life in Part 1 and now is poised to do the same in Part 2. It helps that the drama was filming in one swoop as it was never intended to be a two part-er initially. The novel is split into three books with … Continue reading →

Tencent Releases New Character Stills for Lost You Forever Part 2 that Expand on the Original Stills From Part 1 Ahead of July 8th Premiere

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

My relationship with Lost You Forever will always remain the first and most memorable love, what with how much I lived and breathed the novel during the years of translation. Three whole books people! Which sadly is only going to become a 60 episode drama, with Part 1 airing last summer with 39 episodes and Part 2 reportedly only have … Continue reading →

Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Love in Pavilion Seeking Year End 2024 Release Despite Chapter 1 Red Moon Pact Flopping

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

So being the middle chapter of a three part trilogy is like being the middle child, burdened by the accomplishments or lack thereof from the eldest and still has a younger sibling that can deliver if you don’t. Fox Spirit Matchmaker series launched with the highly anticipated Red Moon Pact with Yang Mi and Gong Jun which flopped hard and … Continue reading →

He’s going to be in Fangs of Fortune and this week Guo Jing Ming announced two new C-dramas which one is … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Well The Princess Royal fans (me included!) are in for a treat as C-ent is all but confirming that Zhao Jin Mai and Zhang Ling He are teaming up for a round two. Or round three, since their TPR characters are already on their own round two haha. They have been cast in the C-drama Our Generation adapted from the … Continue reading →

Zhao Jin Mai and Zhang Ling He Bring Their Visual Cuteness from Period Drama The Princess Royal to Modern Pictorial

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

So the end of The Double nicely dovetailed for me right into the start of The Princess Royal. It’s not the same vibes or addictiveness though, TPR is slower and less makjang in that thrilling way TD delivered beat after beat of getting a satisfying revenge payoff, but instead lets a second chance marriage and romance develop in lovely beats. … Continue reading →

New Stills of the Six Leads of Lost You Forever Part 2 Feels Like No Time Has Passed Getting Back into the Mood of the Drama

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

I’m a nostalgist and also have developed patience with age, the year long wait between Lost You Forever Part 1 and now the coming Part 2 was frustrating when it happened but now feels like a shrug of no big deal. The drama is returning next week and Tencent released the first batch of official lead stills showing Yang Zi, … Continue reading →

The Double Sad Ending Video Leads to Employee Firings and Additional Bad Behavior Allegations But Furor Over Wang Xing Yue Starts to Die Down

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

This goes to show how one action can snowball and lead to many additional consequences. Last week Wang Xing Yue‘s production office released a video showing his character Xiao Heng dying in the final battle in the drama The Double. The stated intent was to showcase his character and acting, the behind-the-scenes intent was to harsh the buzz of CP … Continue reading →

C-drama Follow Your Heart with Luo Yun Xi and Song Yi Airs to Uneventful Feedback and Lackluster Buzz

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

So I probably will end up skipping Follow Your Heart, and initially it was due to logistics and now due to feedback. I was super addicted to The Double and only had bandwidth for that drama and was planning on watching Follow Your Heart after, but then when The Double ended I heard that Follow Your Heart wasn’t really interesting. … Continue reading →
