It’s a new Chinese title but the same leads for the upcoming C-drama Love Beyond the Grave. It was originally titled 白日提灯 Ba Ri Ti Deng and will now be called 慕胥辞 Mu Xu Ci. The drama will star Dilraba Dilmurat and Chen Fei Yu, both of whom recently finished filming a drama with plenty of time for this to … Continue reading →
The only two characters and stars to emerge unscathed from the hot mess that is Lost You Forever Part 2 has to be Yang Zi and Tan Jian Ci and their characters of Xiao Yao and Xiang Liu. The entire Part 2 run was ruinous for me in terms of adapting the second half of the LYF novel but at … Continue reading →
Producer Yu Zheng has been hyping up Lin Jiang Xian (formerly There is a Fox in Hengmen) for months now and I’m not allergic to his dramas on principle but other than The Double I really haven’t seen anything that made me want to watch and this one falls into that latter category as well. The character posters released earlier … Continue reading →
So C-actor Wu Lei has been veeeeeery picky with his projects, beyond wanting to do more movies rather than dramas, he’d rather enjoy life and all his hobbies than work nonstop. For a child actor turned successful adult actor, this balance is really good for his mental wellbeing but not clear if it’s going to keep him from leveling up … Continue reading →
Well this is not the smartest move if you ask me, but again C-actress Tang Yan‘s fandom hasn’t been known to be the savviest. Her long ago filmed period C-drama A Moment But Forever with Liu Xue Yi is reportedly airing soon, this summer so likely next month in August or early September. Her fandom announced this week that it … Continue reading →
So the viewers of Lost You Forever Part 1 who fell in love with Xiang Liu played by Tan Jian Ci are only going to love him even more in Part 2, and it’s already happening. Within a week of LYF2 airing, Tan Jian Ci is just behind Yang Zi in the hot buzz chart and reportedly the highest buzz … Continue reading →
Right after news broke that director Guo Jing Ming had two more C-dramas in preps now that he was finished with Fangs of Fortune, both starring his protege Tian Jia Rui, now comes the female lead in the first one. The drama is titled Ran Shuang Wei Zhou (燃霜为昼) and the female lead will be Gulinazha. Excuse me while I … Continue reading →
Those in the know about how C-ent works won’t be surprised by this but it is a good representation to confirm that anything happening is either tacitly allowed or more likely promoted by the stars in question. Lost You Forever Part 2 is past the midway point in its shorter than Part 1 airing length and this time around there … Continue reading →
I really like C-actor Dylan Wang but I often get the sense that he’s cosplaying when I see him onscreen. In his past dramas he just came off as cosplaying a cold tech executive, a revenge driven fake eunuch, and now he’s cosplaying a grizzly young rookie cop. I didn’t mention his popularity rising turn as an abused but caring … Continue reading →
So this is really recent airing scheduling change rumors but we should know in the next week or two whether it’s going to happen or not. Tang dynasty drama The Story of Pearl Girl with Zhao Lu Si and Liu Yu Ning was slated for a Q4 2024 basically end of year airing which fits with the filming and post-production … Continue reading →
The 2024 summer C-dramas has been decent, better than the spring season earlier. Period rebirth palace intrigue C-drama The Princess Royal with Zhao Jin Mai and Zhang Ling He just ended its 40-episode run this weekend and the Douban ratings are also out with a mid 6.7. I think it’s probably a few points too low, this drama was really … Continue reading →
The shipping wars during the drama airing for Lost You Forever is nothing compared to what it was like for the novel days. The book was much richer and deeper in detail and yielded very strong opinions on who Xiao Yao loves/should end up with. The two aren’t necessarily the same and during the novel days the shipping was vocal … Continue reading →
C-actress Yang Zi is currently on the small screen with her hit C-drama Lost You Forever Part 2 and also has the filmed Tang Dynasty period drama Flourished Peony finished production. Reportedly her long filmed C-drama The Golden Hairpin will get a release in late fall of this year with the AI face swapped new male lead. Now she’s signed … Continue reading →
