Finally! Okay people, I believe this casting finishes the complete main cast for the upcoming Heirs. For whatever weed FNC Entertainment was smoking in allegedly being the one to turn down the offer for Jung Yong Hwa to be the second male lead in Heirs (supposedly due to his busy CNBlue schedule), I don’t know what kind of magic they … Continue reading →
First off, I hate to be the netiquette reminder fairy but do not be a douchenozzle and steal my writing. Words are like my kids, if I put it together into a sentence then I consider it kidnapping if it’s lifted wholesale. With the intense frenzy for Heirs news despite being three months away from airing, I’ve already seen things … Continue reading →
Have the Hong sisters lost their mojo? While I personally loved Big for admittedly very subjective reasons unrelated to its quality (or lack thereof), the sisters don’t seem to have that buzziness about them. While You’re Beautiful was their biggest splash in years in terms of net buzz, My Girlfriend is a Gumiho did reasonably well and was quite popular … Continue reading →
The adults showed up in the second half of episode 5 of Goddess of Fire Jeongi today and I wish I could tell everyone that the drama miraculously got better. The annoying was dialed down one notch without the histrionics of Jin Ji Hee playing the younger Jung Yi, but frankly she was but one of this drama’s problems and … Continue reading →
There are two upcoming KBS dramas on its schedule that I have not heard a lick about. I was getting ready to write a post about it when today the first casting news broke – Jung Yong Hwa is likely signing on as the male lead for Future’s Choice. This is the drama slated to air following The Good Doctor on … Continue reading →
I’m just laughing at the all-over-the-place feeling of Heirs, from the casting to the script concept. But it appears that Kim Eun Sook is going to throw whatever the heck at the board and see what sticks. She’s got established young actors Park Shin Hye and Lee Min Ho returning to high school, if fangirls or fanboys want idols then … Continue reading →
Another Monday, another long countdown to Friday not for the weekend to start but for another episode of Monstar to arrive. I’m seriously nervous about what’ll happen once this drama ends and I don’t get to spend time with the members of Color Bar anymore. Sniffles, they better all be headed to big and better places. Now that the unexpected … Continue reading →
We’re midway into July already which is usually when all the major big-budget C-dramas start airing. Huang Xiaoming‘s mega-biopic The Patriot Yue Fei (精忠岳飞) finally premiered on July 4th after being done filming for two years already. He plays the legendary Southern Song dynasty General Yue Fei and Ruby Lin plays his wife, this drama ought to be good considering … Continue reading →
Sometimes I wonder if the upcoming high-profile drama Those Who Wear the Crown, Withstand the Weight: The Heirs (aka Heirs) is an elaborate joke. At some point someone is going to jump out and yell “Sucker!!!” for all those months spent discussing, debating, and dissecting a drama that reads like a cross between Gossip Girl and Boys Before Flowers starring … Continue reading →
I’m rather bemused that there are still new print magazines launching in this day and digital age. It’s like watching the last grasp for attention before an extinction event, much like 35mm cameras a decade ago trying to convince die-hard photographers not to go digital. It was only a matter of time, and similarly the print industry from newspapers to … Continue reading →
I’ve already said Park Shin Hye won the actress lottery of her generation since she’s had the pleasure of working with pretty much every single gorgeous and/or talented young male actor in Korea. And then some. She’s even worked with current It-boy du jour in Taiwan George Hu. After The Heirs with Lee Min Ho drops this Fall, she’ll be … Continue reading →
Vanness Wu is having a heck of a Summer, and its been a pleasure following along with his latest musical endeavors and media appearances. His just released solo album Different Man is selling well and he’s been churning out one fantastic MV after another for each of the singles. The first was the dub-step influenced “Different Man” with the gold … Continue reading →
I’m still watching and loving Cruel City (Heartless City) on cable network jTBC. But I’m glad I didn’t decide to jump into recapping it because I enjoy the watch but enough episodes have aired that convince me a deeper analysis and read of this drama isn’t going to enhance my enjoyment. It’s easily one of the best K-dramas this year … Continue reading →
