Lee Seung Gi has been immersed in the singing side of his career since wrapping The King 2 Hearts back in May, which is good for fans of his music since it means new singles to put on repeat and new performances to savor. Last week he held his Hope Concert in Seoul that was a sold out performance and … Continue reading →
Awwww, so much love. It was totally worth it for me spending so much time following Miss Rose despite all signs pointing to a drastic decline in quality right about now. This drama was always about spending time together and not in the few manufactured conflicts, except now it’s all about the manufactured conflicts and not enough time together. Puff … Continue reading →
Awww, poor Jung Woo, why so depressed dude? Oh right, you got tasered by your number one ahjumma fan who turns out to be a homicidal rapist killer. One thing that just really stands out about MY is that the emotions can be justified but the events that create the emotions continue to feel so ridiculously extreme. It could happen, … Continue reading →
I’m seriously pinching myself to see if I’m dreaming. It can’t be possible that Cheongdamdong Alice is this good. So far it’s succeeding beyond my wildest imaginations as a straight up rom-com that attempts to have honest dialogue about the interconnected web between material wealth and ambition where love is the sacrificial lamb. The writing is so air tight and … Continue reading →
Turns out the Christmas teaser released for Flower Boy Next Door was just an appetizer, the real deal main course is now here as well. tvN just dropped a longer version of the Christmas-themed party-in-an-apartment teaser showing four flower boys celebrating Christmas with Park Shin Hye. Initially she’s sad and about to pour herself a bowl of cereal (all she … Continue reading →
I find Kim Sun Ah strikingly beautiful, a combination of having imperfect but lovely features and an actress’s willingness to take risks with her looks and style. While most people first encountered her through My Name is Kim Sam Soon, where she put on 20 pounds and won herself a successful baking career and a chaebol Hyun Bin, she had … Continue reading →
Did the ending of episode 4 of Cheongdamdong Alice make you sit up and holler “hell yes!” to the screen? Did the lack of a preview for episode 5 cause you to alternate between sobbing wildly like a loony and stifling the urge to punch your computer for failing to provide the goods to tide you over until next week? … Continue reading →
Oh baby boy, why so cute? Seriously, can you stop being so cute so I can stop fangirling you like mad. I have a life that I need to get back to leading. Who else found it totally odd that gimpy Kang Hyung Joon suddenly morphed into this smiley boy who flew to Busan to run a marathon? I know … Continue reading →
In a short 17-second snippet of a teaser, Flower Boy Next Door just made me feel like Christmas came early. These days I can afford to buy what I want, and what makes me happy are things money can’t buy anyway, like time spent with people I care about and things that make me feel. I really do sense this … Continue reading →
Episode 3 of Cheongdamdong Alice was one of the most perfect hours I’ve spent with any drama all year. Towards the end of episode 2 I already got the impression that this drama had its shit together and knew where it was headed, despite starting off rather jerky out of the gate. The switch flipped on in episode 3 so … Continue reading →
Is it me or has Wu Zun stumbled upon the fountain of youth? He was the oldest of the Fahrenheit boys and is nearing his mid-thirties but he still looks exactly the same as when he debuted (but more handsome with the maturity). Now that he’s left idol singing and dramas behind, Zun has been in China focusing on making … Continue reading →
Much as I’m keeping my expectations way low for IRIS 2, I can’t help but avidly follow along with its big-budgeted around-the-world filming. The cast and crew spent last month in Budapest, Hungary filming extensive action and spy sequences for the drama that garnered even coverage in the local media. I just know this drama will be so pretty to … Continue reading →
Wahhhh, I love Chris Wu and I love Christmas trees and I love Open Chan and Please Chan! Those of you from Taiwan are probably familiar with the darling mascots of 7-11, starting with Open Chan, dog who comes from the Open planet and who loves to eat onigiri (height is four onigiri’s tall and weighs two pineapples) and Please … Continue reading →
