After a long busy week, settling in with my comfort drama of Miss Rose is like kicking off my pumps and snuggling into bed. MR is reliable and always satisfying, which does mean I’m starting to take it for granted. Now that Cheng Kuan and Si Yi finally break through the barrier of Vivian and her domineering father, does this … Continue reading →
The above illustrated poster for Nice Guy came courtesy of the official KBS page for the drama. For a drama that is at times intense and grim, there is a certain amount of levity about it that this illustration captures and highlights why I love it so. Maru is at the head of the pack because his decisions have driven … Continue reading →
Can I have a minute here to compose myself? I am seriously verklempt with emotion looking at the first official stills from the set of Cheongdamdong Alice with my darling Moon Geun Young making adorable faces for the cameras early in the morning during filming. She is seriously like the cheerleading energizer bunny on any of her drama or film … Continue reading →
I love that my readers (i.e. fellow drama kindred spirits) have such diverse tastes. Whenever I post about a drama, I always find someone revealing a hidden bias or sharing a fangirly side when it comes to certain actors or actresses that isn’t my personal fave and opening my eyes up. When I posted a few months ago about the … Continue reading →
As the sage Tony Stark once said, and I’ll gift his acute observation now to Yoon Eun Hye, “Doth mother know you weareth her drapes?” Though it also looks like the fabric from a sofa, so points for having multiple resemblances. The cast of MBC’s upcoming Thurs drama Missing You (I Miss You) gathered for a press conference this week … Continue reading →
That smile on Eun Gi’s face gives me the shivers. Brrrrr. How do you reset something that has already been reset once? Does it go back full circle then? But what happens to all the things that happened during the interim? Everyone keeps wanting Eun Gi to regain her memories, warts and all with what happened in the past, but … Continue reading →
Either Choi Kang Hee has been a very good girl and the drama gods are showering affection upon her, or else she’s collecting on some good karma from the past. A week after being confirmed for The Secret Lovers co-starring Joo Won, a decidedly versatile and mature onscreen young actor ten years younger than her, the other male lead for … Continue reading →
It’s been ages since I encountered a drama with a side character like Jae Hee’s disreputable bastard brother Jae Shik being such an entertaining scene stealer in Nice Guy. I’m sure its 99.9% due to fantastic movie actor Yang Ik Joon’s performance, but I love how he’s integrated into this drama as exposition, narrative device, and inadvertent cupid. He’s hilariously … Continue reading →
I can’t lie – I loved episode 15 of Nice Guy but it was due to an overwhelming amount of goodwill built up for this drama because this episode felt like a bit of air was let out of the tires. A merely good episode of NG is still better than most anything out there recently, so that’s not a … Continue reading →
If I had any lingering doubts that Missing You appears to be one giant weep fest, complete with screaming, physical violence, and lots of agonizing pain, the third teaser for the drama puts that to rest. Everyone better bring their tissues plus lots of patience and fortitude. To cap off the earlier sets of official stills released of Yoo Seung … Continue reading →
Two Mike He‘s for the price of one? I’ll take that…..only if the drama is actually any good. If its dreck like Love Keeps Going, I’ll toss both Mikes back into the ocean in a heartbeat. Since doing LKG last Spring, Mike has done a family-themed C-drama that is currently airing in China and getting solid ratings, but its dubbed … Continue reading →
As Missing You gears up for its premiere next week and its press conference this week, expect tons of stills and likely more teasers to whet our appetite. It’s actually rather late for a drama to be dropping official stills of its adult cast but this one has a rather long childhood portion so the adults aren’t showing up for … Continue reading →
Is it hot in herre or am I having Nelly moment a decade too late? The upcoming daily TW-drama Love, Now starring Annie Chen and George Hu premieres October 31st and doesn’t waste any time in teasing the fans with the juicy stuff. The cast held a press conference this weekend and the production released this latest batch of pictures … Continue reading →
