I actually watched the teaser for King of Dramas, the upcoming SBS drama to follow Faith, earlier this week but just haven’t gotten around to posting about it until now. Starring Kim Myung Min, Jung Ryeo Won, Choi Si Won, and Oh Ji Eun, this is the only upcoming weekday drama that I’m totally looking forward to. Too bad it’s … Continue reading →
It’s not just my overeager imagination that Song Joong Ki appears to be everywhere, right? He’s on television with Nice Guy (The Innocent Man), he’s on the big screen with The Werewolf Boy, he’s all over the news doing media promotions for both, and he’s all over my blog as the trying-to-be-bad-yet-innately-good Kang Maru in NG. It’s time to add … Continue reading →
Awesome has a new buddy and its name is Miss Rose episode 14. Boo yah, this episode was absolutely terrific! I laughed at the cute, swooned over the sweet, and nodded over the sincere and frank discussions of living the easy life version living the life one has to work to achieve. President Jiang has surprised me with his thoughtful … Continue reading →
While 4 and 8 were duking it out for the beauty and the Qing empire, somewhere off to the side 13 was chuckling as he murmured “sorry bros, I’ve already got the girl.” I can always (ALWAYS) count on Yuan Hong and Liu Shi Shi to give HongShi shippers the world over some truly gaspworthy public cute moments at least … Continue reading →
I was waiting for a new video preview for episode 14 of Miss Rose before posting the written preview, but it doesn’t look like one is forthcoming. I reckon with all the hoopla over the Golden Bell Awards this week, it’s been lean with the entertainment news on other fronts. GTV was the big winner at this year’s GBA while … Continue reading →
It’s finally airing so mark your calendars! The upcoming TW-drama Summer Fever (戀夏38℃) has gotten an air date on CTV staring October 31st, airing an episode Monday through Thursdays at 10 pm. Initially this drama filmed completely under my radar since I don’t follow the careers of leads George Hu or Gui Gui (Wu Ying Jie), though both are adorable … Continue reading →
One great bonus of having Moon Geun Young make her acting comeback after a two year school hiatus is that she’s also back in various periodicals for my viewing pleasure. She’s as good a print model as she is acting, though I have to confess she’s not my favorite when it comes to posing. I find that she doesn’t own … Continue reading →
WHAT THE HELL, KBS?!?! Please don’t screw up the tense exhilarating ride that is Nice Guy (The Innocent Man) with what I consider the death knell of dragginess by extending a highly rating drama for the sake of ratings rather than creative necessity. With only 6-episodes left in its 20-episode run, KBS is apparently considering an extension and is in … Continue reading →
Episode 13 wasn’t anywhere near being a stellar episode of Miss Rose, but two things made it fun for me. I had a blast writing this recap, which summoned forth a ton more good-natured snark than I’ve exhibited lately. It’s probably a way for me to let off some steam and anxiety of two straight episodes of Nice Guy where … Continue reading →
Congrats are in order for the cast and crew of In Time With You! The 47th Annual Golden Bell Awards was held in Taipei on Friday night, the Taiwan equivalent of the Emmy’s, and to no one’s surprise the most nominated drama of the night walked away with the most awards. ITWY took home 7 out of its 8 nominations, … Continue reading →
Sometimes drama castings are so unbelievable I need to stop for a moment to even process the pairing. This so shocking I don’t even know where to start. Nagasawa Masami is currently in Taiwan for a long stay filming a TW-drama co-starring Blue Lan. Yes, you heard that right. It’s a 13-episode CTS adaptation of a Japanese manga called Gangster … Continue reading →
I always appreciate when a drama couple I love gets tapped for endorsement deals together, thereby adding more swooniness for me to savor long after the drama has ended. Kim Soo Hyun and Suzy continue to be my adorable bias from Dream High and I always slurp up their cuteness anytime I get any. The clothing brand Bean Pole did … Continue reading →
This episode was so beautiful in its quiet tension. Nice Guy understands that it’s not always about the big moments, the grand reveals, the knock out punches of narrative oomph. Because we have spent 14 episodes getting to know Maru and Eun Gi, their pain and anxiety resonates with us even if it remains sitting there like a ticking time … Continue reading →
