I’m sorta speechless at the doozy of an ending to episode 10 of The King 2 Hearts. I can’t believe the writers went there, and expect me to be all verklempt at how it’s going to create all this emotional angst. I’m all for emotional angst, and I think Jae Ha and Hang Ah have tons of organic angst to … Continue reading →
After months of speculation and paparazzi hounding, Mark Chao confirmed today during the press conference for the China release of Black & White the movie that he is indeed dating famed C-actress Gao Yuan Yuan. Mark, you sly dog, how’d you get such a gorgeous and talented lady? Ha ha, I’m totally kidding, though I’m happy to report that the … Continue reading →
Oh my freaking bejeebus! Before I get to the casting talk about Timeslip Dr. Jin, I have to first announce this new piece of information I gleaned. Apparently the good Dr. Jin will be written by two screenwriters, one of whom did Road No. 1, and the other did Spy Myung Wol. No, I am not joking and this is … Continue reading →
This episode was a bit rough, and the exposed seams where the narrative borders on unrealistic starts to unravel a bit. Where The King 2 Hearts excels at is delving into the personal relationships between characters inhabiting a fantasy world that involves royal families, a Romeo and Juliet love story based on one culture split into two countries, and the … Continue reading →
Well, well, well, this certainly slightly negates what I said not a day earlier about A Gentleman’s Dignity surely creaming Timeslip Dr. Jin when both premiere on May 26th. Today news broke that Lee Bum Soo has been cast in Timeslip, which pretty much means he’s the real second lead and Jaejoong is there for the pretty hot young thing … Continue reading →
Time is seriously crawling around my neck of the woods. I swear I can hear water drops counting down each second. Drip, drip, drip……The King 2 Hearts come to momma now! I’m so glad we’re back to a normal one episode a night airing this week, Last Thursday I was seeing chirping birds floating around my head by the time … Continue reading →
Kyaaaaa, my babies Roy and Alice are so purty it hurts my eyes. This was actually a news worthy week for the former cast members of Office Girls. Roy Qiu was off shilling Tumi luggage, while his leading lady Alice Ke released a book of her acting projects paired with her writing, where she got her other OG co-star James … Continue reading →
Who wants to go hunt down an increasingly evil secretary with me? OMG, that guy needs a beat down, though of course I’m only referring to Secretary Eun the character and not my awesome haraboji Lee Soon Jae, who can do no wrong when it comes to acting. I’m finding cracks in the characterization of villain Bong Joo and increasingly … Continue reading →
That is the ratings question come this May. SBS has confirmed that its recently started filming Kim Eun Sook-penned super hot ahjusshis drama A Gentleman’s Dignity will be trying to recapture the success of Kim Eun Sook’s last drama Secret Garden by getting a weekend airing time slot. The PD will be Kim Eun Sook’s long time collaborator who worked … Continue reading →
After five Tong Hua novels in a row, I’ve confirmed that I’m not her fangirl. I happen to be a fan of some of her novels and that’s about it. If I were her fangirl then I wouldn’t have to heart to do this. But it simply must be said – Tong Hua’s modern novel Secrets Hidden in Time is … Continue reading →
I’ve already rendered my initial opinion of Da Mo Yao the drama (miscast, shoddy costuming and wacky set pieces, sure-to-be poor CGI based on Tangren track record). I’m fine being proven wrong, but I doubt that will happen. I’m genuinely not following the filming, except this bit of stunning casting news hit my news feed and I had no choice … Continue reading →
I can write about this drama all day long. The King 2 Hearts keeps taking my heart for a test drive and depositing me back all discombobulated and dizzy. I’m not sure what’s come over me, only that I’m thisclose to having TK2H dreams. I feel like Wednesday is so so far away, but I’m sure if I keep busy … Continue reading →
We’re here, we’re here. Chapter 18 of Yun Zhong Ge marks the end of volume 1 of this rich, nuanced, and densely plotted novel. There are two more volumes to go, but we’ve come a long way since we met the girl in the green woven skirt riding a snow white camel in the desert. I may find Yun Ge … Continue reading →
