Next week is the premiere of The Moon that Embraces the Sun, yet the adult cast gathered just this past week for their first script reading. Of course the reason is that this drama will have a longer childhood portion set at six-episodes out of the scheduled twenty. I don’t care how long a childhood section is as long as … Continue reading →
Who knows when Office Girls will actually end, but it’s follow up drama 向前走向愛走 (literal translation is Walking Forward Towards Love, and the former title for this drama was Dream Chasing Gal) held a small press conference last week to introduce the two leading ladies in character. TTV has been on a roll this year with a series of hit … Continue reading →
I’ve been stuffing myself full of food for the last few days but it’s been lean on my drama intake. Totally backlogged but will undoubtedly catch up in due course. Office Girls episode 19 continues the dichotomy of being completely boring in any scene not involving Xing Ren and Zi Qi, and then nailing it when the two of them … Continue reading →
While I wasn’t watching, the Fall 2011 dorama season in Japan just spawned a record breaker. Matsushima Nanako‘s odd little housekeeper dorama Kaseifu no Mita (literal translation I am Mita the Housekeeper) has been a blockbuster hit from the very first episode, which premiered at almost 20% in ratings. This little sucker kept increasing its ratings every week until its … Continue reading →
I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! I sure did. And so did the fans in Taipei who spent Christmas Eve at the New Taipei City free outdoor concert at the Taipei 101 Building where a bevy of singers helped usher in the holiday spirit. The closing act was none other than Rainie Yang, formerly more famous for being … Continue reading →
I blame Autumn in my Heart for my Song Seung Heon love, and now I can blame it’s C-drama remake Fall in Love for my Hans Zhang crush. The boy is as close to a mini Heon oppa as I’ve ever seen, just as cute and equally cannot act. Clearly made just for me to swoon over. Hmmmm, yummy. I … Continue reading →
Episode 1 of Skip Beat got a critical drubbing from TW-netizens for Choi Siwon‘s dubbed voice as Dun He Lian, which was performed by Kun Da. It’s so bad that today the production officially announced that it will be redubbing Siwon’s voice in the drama, despite the fact that Kun Da is almost done with his recording for the entire … Continue reading →
I have now decided that History of the Salaryman might just be so awesome it defies description and promotional materials. It’s so awesome that nothing can distill that awesome into bite sized nuggets of explanation. Which is why all the teasers and pictures we’ve seen so far look absolutely insane. The cast attended the press conference this week in preparation … Continue reading →
The currently filming modern C-drama Angel (literal translation An Angel’s Happiness) released the first set of official stills today. Co-starring Liu Shi Shi and Ming Dao, the drama is situated in a little island off the South China Sea coast and the provincial setting recalls shades of Thank You for me when coupled with the character descriptions. In this drama, Ming … Continue reading →
While the rest of the Sunday night competition drama casts are off celebrating Christmas since their dramas wrapped awhile ago, the cast of Office Girls is working through Christmas Eve and continuing into Christmas day. As such, the production decided to do a white elephant gift exchange with the gift value limited at NT200 (equivalent to about $7). Everyone thinks … Continue reading →
The upcoming K-drama remake of Yamapi‘s Proposal Daisakusen starring Yoo Seung Ho has quietly started filming already. Airing on the new cable network TV Joseon come February 2012, Operation Love will co-star Park Eun Bin, who has quite a tangled history with Yoo Seung Ho. Both were the child OTP counterparts in Legend with Bae Yong Joon and Lee Ji Ah, … Continue reading →
I still lub Office Girls a ton. Even moreso now that I’m not recapping each episode in full. The joy is back in my watch because I can enjoy it the way it was meant to be watched, with not much analysis and plenty of good spirit. Maybe it’s the Christmas cheer starting to hit me full force, but I’m … Continue reading →
The ever more handsome Nicky Wu graces the January 2012 edition Cosmopolitan China , and he’s once again hitting the pictorial out of the park in terms of wowing me from behind the pages. I find myself missing Bu Bu Jing Xin a lot lately, and it’s a combination of just nostalgia and vivid recollection of just how compelling everything … Continue reading →
