A day after KBS announced, to a shocked and stupefied cast and public, that it was firing pretty much the entire cast of its upcoming medical drama Brain because it felt the drama skewed too young with the twentysomethings KBS hired originally, Song Seung Heon has been confirmed as taking over the lead role of a neurosurgeon at a top-ranked … Continue reading →
Even though Protect the Boss may have lost some razzle dazzle in the last few weeks in the storytelling department, it’s actors have instead dialed up the awesome. Ji Sung‘s Ji Heon is suddenly channeling the smexy and manly stares towards Eun Seol all the time, which makes my knees weak. He’s become such a versatile actor, easily transitioning between … Continue reading →
Now that Love Rain has found it’s leading lady Yoona to join Jang Geun Seok in the cross-generational drama by Seasons drama PD Yoon Seuk Ho, the rest of the extended cast has been filled this week. Joining the cast will be Kim Si Hoo, Seo In Guk, Hwang Bora, and Son Eun Seo. Are all are you scratching your heads … Continue reading →
I think it’s safe to say that Protect the Boss is indeed floundering in the final third of its run. Last week’s two glitchy episodes are sadly not some anomaly, heralding instead a continued stream of plot development that I am really loathe to see. It’s not like PTB has went insane, to the contrary, the drama is still exceedingly … Continue reading →
The Princess’s Man is a few weeks away from ending, so that means it’s follow drama Man of Honor starring Chun Jung Myung and Park Min Young is gearing up to take over. Filming has actually commenced already, but today the production released official pictures of the first script reading session. It’s always a treat to peek at a drama in … Continue reading →
Normally I don’t jump ahead when it comes to recapping, but with respect to Zenkai Girl it’s pretty much a given this baby is going to end well. It might go insane for an episode or two, but it’s sure to be rainbows and unicorns by the end. If anyone thought otherwise, sorry to say burst your naysayer bubble. Heh. So everyone … Continue reading →
The nominations are out for October’s 2011 Golden Bell Awards, Taiwan’s equivalent of the Emmys, honoring the best in television for the past year. To no one’s surprise, The Fierce Wife left with the most nominations, among them netting it’s two leads Sonia Sui and James Wen both a best actress and actor nod respectively, and the Xiao San (interloper) … Continue reading →
I be seeing stars in my eyes, dizzy from so exquisite couple perfection. So Ji Sub and Han Hyo Joo grace the pages of W Korea as part of their promotion for their romantic movie Always. They play a boxer and a blind artist, respectively, for the movie, where they were made to look average and/or worn down for their characters. … Continue reading →
Somewhere between watching the latest episodes of Bu Bu Jing Xin (I’m up to episode 20 if anyone is curious) and reading the C-news, I came across this poster for the drama which just took my breath away. I love the juxtaposition of Ruo Xi’s face on the left with a minature of Zhang Xiao (her modern incarnation) on the right, … Continue reading →
Folks, we’ve got here the first official pictures of the four leads in the upcoming SBS drama Thousand Day Promise, starring Kim Rae Won, Su Ae, Lee Sang Woo, and Jung Yumi. Looking good, looking very very good. I love the simplicity of how all four characters look, a very down-to-earth and mature vibe. Which is not surprising considering writer … Continue reading →
This was an odd episode of Ouran High School Host Club. Not sure if it was just me, but the episode fell rather flat, without the zany energy to sustain it, plus all the emotional touches felt forced rather than a natural progression of the characters development and storyline up until now. We’re nearing the end of the drama run, with … Continue reading →
While it’s true that I’m a teensy weensy bit annoyed with last week’s Protect the Boss episodes, it’s not anything that makes me fear for the rest of the drama going forward. I do hope it’s just a blip in an otherwise stellar ensemble family and work drama, one which will be like water under the bridge with me if … Continue reading →
What can I say about episode 1 of In Time With You? I’m not sure throwing around superlatives like bon bons really gets to the crux of the experience of watching this drama. It’s not merely a wonderful and excellent cinematic work, it’s genuinely introspective without being precocious, realistic without being plodding. Episode 1 toggled expertly between the past and … Continue reading →
