What have my GeunGeuns been up to lately? Jang Geun Seok has been busy filming You’re My Pet with Kim Ha Neul, while Moon Geun Young went back to school for the last semester. She’s got a fan meeting scheduled for July 30th, of which the tickets sold out in about 15 minutes flat once it went on sale. The … Continue reading →
A great drama stands the test of time. Black & White may just be the best TW-drama ever made, and not just because it stars my Vic Zhou (Zai Zai) as the male lead. B&W has it all – completely pre-shot on film stock with a seasoned PD, a star-studded cast, a riveting and tense story, a K-drama worthy emotional journey … Continue reading →
A big Koala applause and well-wishes to Ki Tae Young and Kim Eugene on tying the knot. After dating for a year and a half, starting almost immediately after they finished filming Creating Destiny, Eugene and Ki Tae Young held a family and friends church wedding in Seoul on the afternoon of July 23rd. The guest list was surprisingly low … Continue reading →
I’ve heard murmurings that the interlude shown of Myung Wol and Kang Woo in Singapore at the end of episode 4 made folks think it was a preview for episode 5. I thought it was a fantasy sequence, maybe a future premonition, or some alternate universe scene. Because it was clearly set in Singapore, and Kang Woo still had his … Continue reading →
Scent of a Woman with Kim Sun Ah and Lee Dong Wook premieres this weekend, and I’ve got the five-minute trailer below that appears to summarize the first two episodes. I love Sun Ah, but I hate her aegyo voice, and she’s dropping it left and right in the trailer. I’ll grit my teeth and bear it, hoping it’ll stop … Continue reading →
Just when it looks like smooth sailing from here on out, the drama gods simply have to throw one final wrench into the relationship of Jie Xiu and Xiao Ru. I’m okay with that, because Song Jie Xiu will never let anything get in his way of creating the perfect family with the woman he loves. Swoon, the man is … Continue reading →
Our Material Queen Lin Chu Man isn’t so material anymore. Lead actress Lynn Xiong returned to Taiwan this week for additional promotional rounds for her drama Material Queen with Vanness Wu. At this point if Lynn does one MQ promo event, Vanness does another. They are like oil and vinegar, but I’m the happy bread soaking up their chemistry onscreen. … Continue reading →
SBS’s upcoming Wed-Thurs drama Protect the Boss with Ji Sung and Choi Kang Hee has been completely flying under my radar. I like Ji Sung and have never watched a Choi Kang Hee drama before, so this casting didn’t get my interest up. Second leads Hero Jaejoong (formerly of DBSK and now JYJ fame) and Wang Ji Hye are interesting … Continue reading →
The Summer of the sageuk is fully underway now that The Princess’s Man premiered this week on KBS Wed-Thurs, with Gye Bak joining the party next Mon-Tues for MBC opposite Warrior Baek Dong Soo on SBS. I’m a bit conflicted about TPM after watching two episodes, so I might as well share some first impressions at this point. I’ll probably … Continue reading →
I really don’t have much to say other than: she’s so pretty in these pictures! Yoon Eun Hye went to Hawaii almost immediately after she wrapped Lie to Me to shoot a photoshoot for Harper’s Bazaar Korea featuring Cartier jewelry. These pictures actually don’t remind me of Hawaii, it feels more like she’s in Santorini. I spent the last two … Continue reading →
It doesn’t happen often, but sometimes when the right character meets the right actor, it can make the career of someone formerly less known. 2011 might be remembered for rocketing Joseph Chang to stardom through Drunken to Love You, exactly the same way 2008 was notable for making the career for Ethan Ruan through Fated to Love You. Joseph is … Continue reading →
Let me talk about the good things at the Scent of a Woman press conference first, okay? The chemistry between Lee Dong Wook and Kim Sun Ah is unbelievable. I seriously think a scandal will erupt soon if they keep looking at each other like that. Wow. Which does lead me to believe they simply get along quite well and … Continue reading →
Yamapi (Yamashita Tomohisa) wrapped up his ridiculously sold out four month long solo Asia tour at the end of May. Since I’m a very considerate noona I’ll let my Pi rest before kindly requesting he get his tush back into a drama, ASAP. Otherwise I’ll have to resort to actually finishing Code Blue, since there are only so many times I … Continue reading →
