I’ll preface this post by saying it’s going to be long (I have a lot to say) and that I LOVE THIS DRAMA!!! thank you very much. KBS Wed-Thurs rom-com Dali and the Cocky Prince (Dal Ri and Gamjatang) rounded the corner to midway airing this week, with episodes 7-8 staying at mid 5% ratings but taking off in every … Continue reading →
Call it real mirroring a reel story line but whatever is going on I have all parties are happy and well with it. K-actress Hwang Jung Eum is back in the news this week with confirmation that she is pregnant with her second child. Normally it would only be congrats but earlier during the summer she made headlines for calling … Continue reading →
My first thought was – did Vogue Korea scramble to shoot and re-shuffle the cover model for it’s November 2021 edition or was it just serendipitous timing that the cover star just had the fastest meteoric rise as a rookie actress I’ve ever seen in K-ent. Model and now actress Jung Ho Yeon is in three different and all striking … Continue reading →
The hype and runaway record breaking success of Netflix K-drama Squid Game hasn’t even died down yet and the streaming platform this Friday dropped the next of it’s original series produced dramas. My Name (Undercover or Nemesis) starring Han So Hee, Ahn Bo Hyun, and Park Hee Soon released all episodes on October 15th, and other than Jeon Ji Hyun … Continue reading →
Okay, my foremost concern is for the mental and emotional wellbeing of this young teen, and honestly it’s not a horrible situation to happen but still lots of scrutiny to endure. A 13-year old Chinese young teen male idol trainee has fallen into what the entertainment news reports are calling the country’s very own “You’re Beautiful” real life story. We … Continue reading →
There is a new poster and preview out for MBC sageuk The Red Sleeve Cuff that will join the other sageuks airing with SBS in Lovers of the Red Sky and KBS with The King’s Affection. It’s so rare these days to have the Big Three all have simultaneously airing sageuks which was more common a decade ago when there … Continue reading →
Toss me in the camp of highly anticipating upcoming SBS drama Now, We are Breaking Up, which is now a little less than a month from premiere come November 12th. I feels like a loner genre in the current crop of light rom-coms and sageuks, taking a more mature and complicated take on romance set in the fashion industry. The … Continue reading →
The watch numbers are in and it may actually be more than even that. Netflix announced that it’s hit K-drama original series Squid Game has officially become it’s most watched original show EVER. It hit 111 million household viewership this week, but per household may actually be more than one person in said household watching so it’s just a lot … Continue reading →
I’m tired just hearing about this man’s schedule but if the iron is hot then best to strike. Kim Nam Gil will be doing a Netflix drama as his next project, except his two prior projects hasn’t even aired yet with this casting. He’s done filming for the SBS crime drama Those Who Read Hearts of Evil based on the … Continue reading →
Whoever in the plot department thought it was a good idea to put Ha Ram in a jail for the entirety of two full episodes and separated from Chun Gi deserves a spanking. They are the only interesting aspect of Lovers the Red Sky and without them together the entire drama devolves into (1) Chun Gi must restore the royal … Continue reading →
Every time I see the title of tvN sageuk Inspector Joy I read it as Inspector Gadget which totally dates me but ah those were the idyllic times of after school cartoons. A good hearted bumbling inspector is what I also expect from this sageuk which combines Taecyeon as the titular inspector and Kim Hye Yoon as a woman named … Continue reading →
It’s just ten days away from the arrival of big budget tvN drama Jirisan (Mount Jiri), a new genre for K-dramas to tackle the outdoor action realm of mountaineering and mountain rescues. The drama stars Jeon Ji Hyun, Joo Ji Hoon, Sung Dong Il, Oh Jung Se, Jo Han Chul, and Go Min Si in a crowded park ranger team … Continue reading →
So K-actor Lee Do Hyun, yeah I totally called that he was going to be the next big thing two years ago when my little eye spied him in Hotel Del Luna. He owes me a reunion in IU in any era but that aside he’s just on fire in terms of K-drama roles and casting offers. In the span … Continue reading →
