tvN drama Mouse is premiering towards the end of February 2021 a few days after jTBC thriller Sisyphus: The Myth but that drama has been promoting for well over a month now yet we’re getting the first stills for Mouse this week. It features male lead Lee Seung Gi of course and he plays a neighborhood cop character, a rookie … Continue reading →
The casting train is moving fast for high flying K-actor Jo Byung Kyu‘s next drama, likely to keep it fresh of mind just off the highly rated recently finished airing OCN drama The Uncanny Counter. His next drama will be the sageuk titled Tale of Secret Royal Inspector and Jo Yi, he plays the titular secret government inspector named Ryan … Continue reading →
Wowsers, everyone looks soooooo good in upcoming legal drama Vincenzo. Song Joong Ki of course gets the benefit of perfectly tailored likely Italian suits but his costars Jeon Yeo Bin and Taecyeon are also looking great in their own character ways. Jeon Yeo Bin plays a lawyer in South Korea and she’s channeling polished and pretty in her suits. I … Continue reading →
Okay, this blog may become Ro Woon centric for the next 6 weeks, please forgive if that happens and I’ll try to keep it restrained. Episode 4 of jTBC Mon-Tues drama Sunbae, Please Don’t Put on that Lipstick (She Would Never Know) flipped the switch for me. My main grievance is gone, the drama is firing on cylinders, and the … Continue reading →
Drama viewers who have noted that the same names and faces get offered leads in K-dramas in various iterations will be happy with this new surprise pairing. KBS is prepping a rom-com drama for middle of the year called Dal Li and Gamja Tang (Dal Li and Pork Bone Potato Soup) and have signed on Lee Jae Wook and Park … Continue reading →
The posters and teasers for upcoming jTBC Fri-Sat drama Beyond Evil (Korean title Monster) definitely wants audiences to be uncertain going into the drama whether the male leads are good or bad. Coupling up veteran Shin Ha Kyun with youngster Yeo Jin Gu in the cop buddy investigation is not new but rarely has it been telegraphed so early that … Continue reading →
Welcome to the big leagues my boy! Oh I knew it, I knew the moment I laid eyes on Ro Woon in Extraordinary You that he was destined for bigger greater things. That drama was frustrating and I didn’t like the female lead but I stuck with it for him and Lee Jae Wook as the tsundere second male lead. … Continue reading →
One of the early 2021 arrivals on my radar is KBS drama Hello? It’s Me!, complete with the question mark and the exclamation in its title. Sadly it’s forty years too late for Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret type teen girl puberty introspection though there is a teen girl here and my premonition is that she’s going to … Continue reading →
Okay, this post is to thwart the heavy hands of censorship and bring more publicity to the efforts to silence art. C-dramas have been on a fantasy, wuxia, and xianxia (combo of the two) novel adaptation kick for the last decade that it’s no wonder the last few years productions have start tapping into BL novels in those genres. BL … Continue reading →
February 2021 is going to be sick in terms of how many K-dramas on my radar will drop, and across the board different genres. The legal thriller craving will be filled by tvN drama Vincenzo, or more shall I say my Song Joong Ki craving. It’s still bizarre that he hit it big with fluffy Descendants of the Sun when … Continue reading →
Man, I thought Queen Cheorin (Mr. Queen) would be breaking cable records left and right but it’s got stiff competition from the other cable dramas on the weekend time slot with one finished and another one just arrived. OCN drama The Uncanny Counter faltered in the final few episodes likely due to the screenwriter swap but the last episode got … Continue reading →
Retired early is basically not retired, anytime someone who is not true retirement age in entertainment announces a retirement I take it with a grain of salt. Such is the case with makjang queen screenwriter Im Sung Han, herself a famous name to drama audiences thanks to her string of hits in the weekend drama and daily category with Miss … Continue reading →
This is like too sweet and heartbreaking of a story not to share, thankfully it has a happy ending. With COVID-19 lockdowns one side effect is the explosion of pet ownership as people look for companion and have more time at home to take care of a pet. Shelters are reportedly emptying out in the US and that’s great, but … Continue reading →
