A Koala's Playground Posted on by

There are quite a lot of big TW-dramas in development and production for 2021 but none as star-studded as Blue Hour (華燈初上) set in 1988 Taipei Red Light District about the lives, loves, and struggles of the club madam, their hostess ladies, and the men in and out of their lives. Ruby Lin is producing and plays one of the … Continue reading →

C-actress Zheng Shuang Embroiled in Scandal of Discarding Surrogate Babies and Divorce with Ex-boyfriend Zhang Heng

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Even putting divorce with discarding surrogate babies in the same “scandal” is absurd, one is like throwing in the trash a meal prepared by a loved one and the other is burning the house to the ground level bad. C-ent is all atwitter this week with news drops complete with secret recording releases that reveal C-actress Zheng Shuang has a … Continue reading →

Episode 15 tVN Drama Awaken Drops Major Reveals Like Whatevs on the Way to Finale

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Okay, I can’t stop watching Awaken (Night and Day) even though I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS and I know most won’t be answered by the end. This drama is so weird, building a conspiracy on perhaps the most horrific power grab ever explored by a K-drama, where rich people (or person) seeks eternal life and in the process uses actual … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

So it looks like 2021 summer K-drama Link will get a completely different set of OTP, and I can’t even say its an upgrade or downgrade because the aura is so totally different. Moon Ga Young continues to work harder than any other actress in her age bracket as she’s up for the female lead, with Kim Ji Won the … Continue reading →

Queen Cheorin Episode 12 Breaks Out with 13.224% Ratings as the Story Explodes with New Intensity

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Just as I thought tvN Sat-Sun sageuk Queen Cheorin (Mr. Queen) may not break out of the 12% ratings plateaued until closer to the end, it took a big blast free this Sunday as episode 12 brought in a cool new high 13.224% ratings. I feel like the King is really moving beyond his plotting phase and the unexpected twists … Continue reading →

Lee Jong Seok in Esquire Korea February 2021 Edition in First Promo After Military Service Discharge

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Normally I would wonder how the heck Lee Jong Seok got such long hair in less than a month since his discharge from military service but then remembered that he served public duty due to a car accident in his teen years exempting him from active service. So he was able to keep his hair and now he’s doing a … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Right after I posted that K-media was keeping an eye on idol-actor Ro Woon the next day comes news that he’s in talks for another K-drama despite his new one Sunbae Please Don’t Put on That Lipstick (She Will Never Know) hasn’t even aired yet. Ro Woo has been offered the male lead in the sageuk drama adaptation of manhwa … Continue reading →

Queen Cheorin Starts Second Half with Ratings Still Steady at 12.517% for Episode 11

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Watching tvN drama Queen Cheorin (Mr. Queen) reminds me of the worst and most sincere excesses of my (and many others) attempts at writing. We try too hard, and have too much to say. Individual sentences works, broader concepts are interesting, but in the earnestness of trying to convey it ends up jumping topics and tones. QC can’t decide if … Continue reading →

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

Well this is certainly not, on the surface, a good development for OCN ratings hit drama The Uncanny Counter. The screenwriter Yeo Ji Na has left the drama immediately, with PD Yoo taking over the script for episode 13 and another screenwriter coming in after for the remaining episodes. It’s reportedly a difference of opinion on the ending of the … Continue reading →

C-netizens Grumbling and Trolling the Heck Out of Top Actress Zhang Zi Yi at 41 Years Old Playing a 15 Year Old Girl in Her First C-drama Monarch Industry

A Koala's Playground Posted on by

There hasn’t been a C-drama to entice me in a few years, not since Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Miles Peach Blossoms, though the Koala jiejie has asked me to watch Love and Destiny and I still owe her that. With that said, I clearly was never going to watch recently premiered high profile period C-drama Monarch Industry (上阳赋 also … Continue reading →

That drama was even earlier in talks with Su Ae and Yoo Teo but that fell apart, and then Song Hye … Continue reading →
