Aragaki Yui and Hoshino Gen will be reunited in the coming months for the SP (special) episode of their mega hit 2016 J-dorama We Married as a Job … Continue reading →
There is so so much to be sad about the passing of Alien Huang (Xiao Gui). That he was just 36 years old, in his prime, that he passed from an aortic dissection which is fatal, and that days after his passing would have been his beloved father’s important 60th birthday. I believe Alien was already planning something, he must … Continue reading →
Good riddance, I hope never to see these two douchbags ever again in the public light. The Seoul court has handed down the final prison sentences for convicted rapist and sexual assault due of Jung Joon Young and Choi Jung Hoon. Maybe they can start a band in jail to entertain fellow inmates. The two were convicted of aggravated rape, … Continue reading →
I’m getting more and more disenchanted with what to expect in upcoming tvN drama Tale of Gumiho. I just…..really don’t like the sleazy-leaning vibe it’s going for with both male leads playing gumihos in Lee Dong Wook and Kim Bum. One looks like he’s on the cover of a paranormal romance novel I can find in the lower shelf of … Continue reading →
K-actor Kim Soo Hyun went back to being the shy quiet type on his SNS account after his summer drama It’s Okay to Not be Okay finished airing. During he was so active (or maybe the account handler was) posting tons of BTS pictures that really added to the fun of live watching the drama alongside. His character there was … Continue reading →
I won’t look a gift horse in the mouth and quibble about the little things that were less than perfect about tvN Wed-Thurs drama Flower of Evil, because this flower was as beautiful and fragrant to behold and getting up and personal to look for imperfection defeats the central theme. The final episode hit a new ratings high of 5.715% … Continue reading →
The good news for Park Bo Gum in Record of Youth is that he’s no longer the only actor hard carrying this drama, his noona Shin Dong Mi who plays his agent just destroyed her scenes in this episode and validated all the earlier inklings that she’s really nailing her role. Too bad this drama isn’t a noona-dongsaeng/agent-actor romance because … Continue reading →
I’m so dating myself to immediately make the connection with paper dolls when I saw these new character stills for tvN drama Start-Up. Each lead is posed and around them are items connected with their likes/jobs/backgrounds. Totally paper dolls, like we cut then out and the cut the items out and then connect it to their hands or change their … Continue reading →
Most of the remaining K-dramas of 2020 are cast and readying for production so I’m banking on new year new everything career wise for the lovely Kim Yoo Jung. After being repped for the longest time by Sidus HQ, the young lady is making a big change in her professional life by looking around at other management options and is … Continue reading →
All drama production has resumed since the last August into early September two week pause due to COVID-19 resurgence in South Korea. I’m glad everyone practiced safety over profit and entertainment, but that does mean many upcoming dramas pushed back its premiere date. That includes jTBC‘s Private Life with Go Kyung Pyo, Seohyun, Kim Hyo Jin, and Kim Young Min … Continue reading →
Lest we become numb from so many celebrity passings in 2020, think back to how awful 2019 was as well and there was no COVID-19 back then. One of the deaths was the wholly accidental and medically brought on passing of model-actor Godfrey Gao from full cardiac arrest after intense physical activity for a prolonged period of time filming a … Continue reading →
I feel more and more like Record of Youth will be a drama worth slow watching AND writing reams of analysis on. There is structure and depth to the character foundations and growth, and a lot of really insightful takes on K-ent and class issues in South Korea. I’m sad I don’t have that time anymore, I miss those 2010-2015 … Continue reading →
I thought this was a done deal but looks like Kang Ha Neul is juggling his full plate nicely without double booking. The award winning actor was offered the male lead in the 2021 scheduled sageuk Cut to the Heart with female lead Son Ye Jin which is about as high profile a pairing as you can get. Even the … Continue reading →
