This will be the new normal, stores/restaurants/work sites closing down due to possible COVID-19 exposure for a quarantine period. Two weeks ago a bunch of K-dramas abruptly had to pause filming due to possible or actual COVID-19 exposure. One of them being KBS Wed-Thurs musical romance Dol Dol Sol Sol La La Sol which has been gearing up for an … Continue reading →
Do I think Krystal looks believable as a capable South Korean female soldier. For sure no, but then I’m still mega excited about the upcoming OCN action/horror/thriller Search regardless because her emotive delicacy will likely not be required here. If male lead Jang Dong Yoon presents as a soft squishy teenager on his first army tour, then Krystal definitely has … Continue reading →
I’m super loving EVERYTHING about Alice, even if it’s a story about a mother/son duo kick-assing everything back to the way it is and saving humanity from wonky time-travel shenanigans. Kim Hee Sun and Joo Won are the oddest yet totally believable mother/son leads of Alice, trust me it makes sense when you watch it but I can see why … Continue reading →
I’m glad to see a K-drama take a location shoot seriously and expensively without needing to be in an exotic overseas locale. Upcoming highly anticipated human survival and nature drama Mount Jiri will be starting primary filming next month in September 2020. Starring Jeon Ji Hyun, Joo Ji Hyun, and Oh Jung Se, the drama will be filmed on location … Continue reading →
Haha, even I totally can tell that bundled up young whippersnapper is Park Bo Gum. The actor quietly enlisted for military service today, and after 6-weeks of basic training he’s headed for the Navy. Due to COVID-19, he was not able to have a press conference for his upcoming drama Record of Youth and also his agency didn’t allow a … Continue reading →
Two of the supporting characters in recent dramas that made a good impression on me with their respective performances will be working together in an upcoming drama. Jinyoung from When My Love Blooms and Park Kyu Young in It’s Okay to Not be Okay are cast in the upcoming legal drama Demon Judge with already cast male lead Ji Sung. … Continue reading →
There won’t be a return to normal for a long long time, and even the new normal keeps getting changed and disrupted as the COVID-19 pandemic continues on with waxing and waning. This past weekend K-actress Kang Sora went ahead with her small family and close friends private wedding to her non-celebrity fiancee, who neighbors of the family say is … Continue reading →
Okay, I checked out new SBS Fri-Sat drama Alice because why not, don’t love any of the leads but also none of them annoy me and I was curious if another time-traveling parallel worlds topic genre would handle this subject matter after The King: Eternal Monarch and Train. Consider me gobsmacked in surprise at how much I LOVE THIS DRAMA … Continue reading →
There is such a disparate visual going on with upcoming OCN drama Search but hopefully that’s only going to work in its favor to heighten the tension. The first stills and teaser is out with male lead Jang Dong Yoon as a South Korean soldier in an unit stationed at the DMZ who encounters a dangerous “monstrosity”. No clue if … Continue reading →
I’m sad not to get a final farewell to K-actor Park Bo Gum before he enlists for military service, as tvN has rightfully cancelled the press conference for upcoming K-drama Record of Youth due to the surge of COVID-19 in South Korea. But then the network released more teasers and stills and I’m happy to really get a better sense … Continue reading →
I love the colors in Park Seo Joon‘s latest Bazaar Korea pictorial. For the September 2020 edition, which in the fashion world is always the largest most prestigious since it heralds the start of Fall Fashion, Park Seo Joon looks like he hopped a time machine back to the 1970’s in both outfits and decor. The predominately bold mustard and … Continue reading →
K-actress Han Hyo Joo has developed quite a movie resume but her dramas have been few and far between especially in the last decade. She started off 2020 with hit sageuk Dong Yi and then in 2016 had fantasy webtoon drama W: Two Worlds. K-ent is reporting that she’s considering her first K-drama in 5 years, scheduled for 2021, the … Continue reading →
Well this is unexpected but a nice action movie now to look forward to. 2017 box office hit Confidential Assignment is getting a sequel four years later, with a scheduled 2021 release but who knows with COVID filming delays these days. The main duo will return with North Korean officer Hyun Bin paired with South Korean detective Yoo Hae Jin, … Continue reading →
