I totally know who should play the Korean version of Superman/Clark Kent if there was ever a K-version. K-actor Park Bo Gum delivered the perfect normal nerdy guy and intense good boy dual covers for the 30th anniversary edition of Cine21 Magazine that makes me wish Korea could do their own superhero movies. He’s kinda pulling the same double duty … Continue reading →
The successful return of C-actress Song Zu Er can be a case study for future soft banned stars, but really it’s that all the elements lined up for her. She was deemed not to have committed any tax evasion and her return was paved by having two well made C-dramas ready to airdrop. She’s now back to her first filming … Continue reading →

Like all scandals, time leads to dwindling interest especially as the matters at hand is parked in the legal justice system and outside the peering eyes of the public. K-actor Kim Soo Hyun and his scandal in Feb/March 2025 around allegations that he dated/started dating deceased actress Kim Sae Ron when she was still an underage minor mushroomed into a … Continue reading →

Every time I see a new C-drama getting cast or names of stars being in discussion I really hope to see Zhao Lu Si pop up more. I think it will help once her finished modern romance drama Almost Lover with Willam Chan airs (likely this month in June) to help get her back on track with the acting side … Continue reading →
So I don’t know if this is indeed cause and effect, but there is a trend that’s worth pondering. Cable channel ENA was seeing a hit on its hands with rom-com Tastefully Yours starring Kang Ha Neul and Go Min Si. It premiered to 1.591% ratings and reached a high of 3.404% in episode 5, more than doubling the views. … Continue reading →
It’s rarer these days to see K-dramas burst out of the gate and start increasing in ratings noticeably. Most of the stronger offerings increase incrementally and hope to be buoyed by strong reviews. That’s the case for recently premiered tvN Sat-Sun drama Our Unwritten Seoul with Park Bo Young playing life swapping polar opposite twins with Jinyoung as the male … Continue reading →
So word on the street is the Feud (Chinese title 临江仙 Lin Jiang Xian) is dropping in iQiyi either June 6th or days within before or after. I don’t even know how to pick between these two female leads, and not in any good way. Might as well flip a coin between over-acting and perennially posing. Yang Chao Yue and Ju Jing Yi are reportedly the two actresses in talks to be the female lead opposing Wang Xing Yue in his next C-drama. It’s adapted from the … Continue reading →
C-actress Bai Lu is known for being a near uninterrupted hard worker, she goes from project to project and she’s now rolling into being the top billed female lead in period C-drama Mo Li (莫离) which literally translates as Don’t Leave. It’s adapted from the novel Sheng Shi Di Fei 盛世嫡妃 or Golden Age Legitimate Consort and is a strong … Continue reading →
