It’s great to see K-actress Han Ye Seul out and about at an official entertainment event for a Skincare brand. It’s been three months since her botched lipoma surgery resulted in severe scarring on an awful gaping wound. There’s nothing the standards of reconstructive surgery can’t fix in South Korea but her job depends on her looks and any external … Continue reading →
The late summer 2018 Mon-Tues time slot has a new arrival but it’s an already airing drama that has shown legs this week. KBS premiered horror romance Lovely Horribly to ratings in the single digits of around 4% for the episodes 1-4 combined on both nights. I’m not ready to dive into SBS drama Thirty But Seventeen due to the … Continue reading →
Unlike dating rumors where denials could be to mask the truth still, this is one rumor that is real true or false. K-ent was gripped by a fast spreading rumor and report that actress Kim Ah Joong died, being found dead in her Gangnam apartment. Her agency released an immediate response that the rumors were false and Kim Ah Joong … Continue reading →
I’m going to call Song Hye Kyo the Queen of KBS from now on, and it’s even more impressive that she’s achieved this level of one-two kill 16 years apart. KBS ran its own poll recently polling 1000 random viewers on their favorite KBS drama of all time. Coming in first is Descendants of the Sun with Song Joong Ki … Continue reading →
This time I’m convinced that current It-actor Park Seo Joon knows exactly what he’s doing (wearing) and is trolling the heck out of K-media and netizens. In that case fine by me and I’m thoroughly amused at how in character he is on his way back to South Korea leaving Incheon airport. We’re talking black loose button down opened to … Continue reading →
I expected this sequel to be announced earlier but better now than never. The director of the box office hit Korean zombie movie Train to Busan has announced that a sequel is in the works, not called Train to Busan 2 though. The title is tentatively Peninsula, which reveals that the infection has spread through the entire Korean peninsula, which … Continue reading →
I think the casting is spot on and adorably inverted from real life in a good way. SNSD member turned actress Sooyoung is in talks to headline the K-drama adaptation of webtoon So I Married an Anti-fan, which has already been adapted to a C-movie starring Sooyoung’s fellow SM agency member Chanyeol from EXO. It’s based on a Korean webtoon … Continue reading →
Consider me cautiously optimistic for upcoming K-drama Beauty Inside, adapted from the drama with a gender twist. This time it’s female lead Seo Hyun Jin who changes forms rather than the male lead in the movie, and she’ll be romancing Lee Min Ki so the production team definitely went for acting ability when casting. The drama version set up sounds … Continue reading →
The brotherhood of the original and best drama adaptation of Bu Bu Jing Xin (also known as Startling With Each Step or Scarlet Heart) adds another to the married brethren, much to my pleasure as I just want each and everyone to find lasting happiness unlike their characters in the drama. This time it’s 8th Prince played by Kevin Cheng, … Continue reading →
I skipped the recently concluded prime time K-drama Are You Human Too but from the small but vocal viewers who loved it perhaps it’s worth diving in for a marathon. Consider me surprised since I always thought K-netizens didn’t like Seo Kang Joon, I’ve always enjoyed his potential even from the early days of Suspicious Housekeeper to What’s With My … Continue reading →
Cable channel OCN has really cemented itself as a legit player in the K-drama industry with a slew of hit shows that focus on the thriller or procedural genre. It’s branching out of the existing K-drama airing time slots to launch a new broadcast on Wed-Thurs nights, leading off with the religious and supernatural tinged detective procedural called The Guest … Continue reading →
K-actress Song Hye Kyo used to rep Laneige for many years but she’s now the face of Sulhwasoo, a more mature skincare brand with a higher price point that features Korean herbs. If she actually looks this way because of the skincare I wouldn’t just buy it to put on my face I’d drink the elixir but sadly she’s just … Continue reading →
It is hot as Hades right now where I am and seeing this latest pictorial with Suzy for sportwear brand K2 my core body temperature actually spiked 10 degrees instantly. She’s all bundled up in huge puffy down coats that are perfect for the Arctic right now and nowhere else in the Northern Hemisphere. I don’t know how Suzy can … Continue reading →
