The pairing of Ji Chang Wook and Yoona for The K2 felt so random and wholly unexpected when it was confirmed, but judging from the complementary visuals in the promo stills might just end up being yet another drama coupling win. The story may have frustrated viewers and gone batty by the end of Yongpal, penned by the screenwriter of … Continue reading →
I see a suitcase on K-actress Choi Ji Woo, so that makes her upcoming MBC Mon-Tues drama Woman with a Suitcase a literal title rather than metaphorical. The first stills are out for all four leads, the titular woman with a suitcase played by Choi Ji Woo, her leading man Joo Jin Mo, and younger acting talents Jeon Hye Bin … Continue reading →
Joo Won is certainly on the right side of Korean netizen opinion with his latest decision on his upcoming military service. He’s voluntarily forgoing assignment to the Police Promotional Unit and will enlist as an active duty soldier come next year. I don’t want to applaud Joo Won for his choice since he has a right to enlist in whatever … Continue reading →
Leave it to two well matched same-age K-ent veterans to bring back some of the celebrity relationship thunder that’s been stolen by Chinese entertainment this summer. K-media is buzzing over the newly confirmed dating relationship of actor Lee Sang Woo and actress Kim So Yeon, who recently costarred as a romantic couple in MBC weekend drama Happy Home. The drama … Continue reading →
Nine years isn’t super long but it feels like forever when one is stuck in the world of intense melodramas. That’s the case with K-actress Su Ae who is making her drama comeback this fall with the KBS Mon-Tues rom-com The Man Living in Our House. She’s been doing dramas consistently but all her works in the last nine years … Continue reading →
The Korean three major networks swap pole positions all the time with drama ratings but it’s especially funny to see the swap happen in two direct head-to-head showdowns. SBS won the Mon-Tues ratings during the summer with the neurosurgery Doctors, while KBS‘s own medical brain surgeon drama Beautiful Mind was such a ratings down that it even got cut short … Continue reading →
The promos for MBC drama Shopping King Louie are making me itch for a drama spree all thanks to the comfortable cuteness of leads Nam Ji Hyun and Seo In Guk. With currently airing MBC Wed-Thurs drama W: Two Worlds going off the narrative rails even with the whole fantasy sci-fi grain of salt, I’m so ready for something silly and … Continue reading →
Fall has clearly descended a step early in the fashion halls of Seoul, and judging from the stylings I would advocate sending it back from whence it came. K-actresses Park Shi Yeon and Lee Min Jung were spotted out of their natural habitat of being married moms during their downtime, with both donning the latest threads from Italian designer Antonio … Continue reading →
K-actor Jin Goo has been in the industry for over a dozen years and yet his surge to the pinnacle of his own popularity this year still doesn’t feel overexposed, likely due to how underrated he was to begin with. The Descendants of the Sun craze seems to have finally died down, leaving only the stars reaping the aftermath of their … Continue reading →
There are new goodies from tvN’s upcoming political thriller The K2, and if the actual drama looks as good as the character teasers do then it’s going to be a treat to watch. Starring Ji Chang Wook, Yoona, and Song Yoon Ah, the drama centers around a South Korean presidential candidate’s campaign and the people surrounding his rise to power, … Continue reading →
I’m inching towards celebrity wedding overload after successive Chinese and Taiwan huge stars have gotten married in the last two months alone, but I think I have it in me for one more celebratory post. TW-actor/singer Ken Zhu, most famously of group F4, got married to his C-actress girlfriend Han Wen Wen this weekend in Bali. It’s yet another destination … Continue reading →
The more I watch of Han Hyo Joo in W: Two Worlds, the more I’m settling into a comfortable enjoyment like a well-knit sweater with no frills. Her acting is far from award winning and actually hasn’t improved much since her last drama Dong Yi, but what she has is a strong likable factor that is one of those intangibles that can … Continue reading →
And here I was thinking that all the splashy star wedding festivities were done for the summer of 2016, who knew the biggest surprise was saved for last. Chinese-speaking entertainment started the weekend off with a huge happy shocker – A-list movie actress Shu Qi is married to her boyfriend of four years HK-star Stephen Fung! The two released wedding … Continue reading →
