Looks like all it took was a K-drama adapted from a popular Chinese source novel for the rumored Chinese entertainment ban on K-ent to be lifted. The K-version of Bu Bu Jing Xin (Startling With Each Step) has just set a new record for highest per episode price sold to China for online broadcast – each episode sold for US … Continue reading →
Uber rich chaebols or country girls are not a dime a dozen, not even in K-dramas even if it feels that way, so it’s going to be amusing to see the contrasting lifestyle sparks fly in upcoming MBC drama Shopping King Louie. I’m less into the concept as I am amused by how great leads Seo In Guk and Nam Ji … Continue reading →
Korean drama screenwriter Kim Eun Sook is going back to a familiar face to round out the leads of her upcoming tvN drama fantasy Goblin, after selecting talented and new collaboration partners for the first three casting choices. Yoo In Na has been offered the second female lead role opposite Gong Yoo, Kim Go Eun, and Lee Dong Wook. Her … Continue reading →
It’s a job well done for the cast and crew of just wrapped SBS Mon-Tues drama Doctors, a drama that ended up being as bland as it’s final title when all the potential was there to make it interesting as the original title of Female Gangster Hye Jung hinted at. I dropped the drama midway through for being so utterly … Continue reading →
There’s always a point-counterpoint in liking aspects of a drama and it looks like the first OST from Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart: Ryeo (Bobogyungsim: Ryeo) is going to be polarizing. I loved the teaser snippet released earlier this week and after hearing the full track “For You” by Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin of EXO I love it even more. It’s … Continue reading →
What is going on in K-ent this summer? There now feels like a never ending stream of sexual assault allegations again K-actors starting with Yoochun to Lee Jin Wook to Lee Min Ki and now adding Uhm Tae Woong to the ignominious collection. New broke this week that a woman is accusing Uhm Tae Woong of sexual assault at a massage … Continue reading →
I’ll leave it to Kim Ji Won to get me excited about fall 2016 fashion shift to stronger fabrics, from metallics to leather and even suede. With summer and the shift dress floaty vibe winding down, the early fall/indian summer mood is right around the corner and I’m loving Sure Magazine‘s take using the red hot actress Kim Ji Won. … Continue reading →
This is about as surprising a left hook dating news as any – veteran movie star and drama actor Shin Ha Kyun is dating rising movie and drama actress Kim Go Eun. Color me as surprised as any to hear this news, and not for any negative reaction insomuch as encountering two items not in any near orbit colliding. They … Continue reading →
It’s clear that Korean lingerie commercials hew to the conservatively subtle, it might not showcase the actual product but definitely previews the results of using it. K-actress Ha Ji Won has been the spokeperson for Korean lingerie brand Vivien for many years now, her womanly and toned figure ideal for modeling the female contraption known as the bra. If this … Continue reading →
Summer is the universally preferred wedding season, who wants to take a chance and plan to get married during unexpected spring showers or inclement weather winter. This summer has seen two lavish and star-studded Chinese entertainment star couple weddings, but so far none from Korean entertainment. I’m sure the pendulum will swing soon and when it does I hope the … Continue reading →
Neither leads of upcoming tvN Mon-Tues drama Drinking Solo interest me without the lure of a great drama, but then again tvN has been hitting solids to home runs with it’s casting this year for romance based dramas. Park Hae Jin and Kim Go Eun in Cheese in the Trap, Eric and Seo Hyun Jin in Another Oh Hae Young, … Continue reading →
This is such cruel teasing by the production of SBS drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart: Ryeo (Bobogyungsim: Ryeo). How can they release such a stirring first OST clip for the Korean adaptation of Bu Bu Jing Xin and not expect me to be chafing for the entire track. I was wondering which of the drama leads would be contributing songs … Continue reading →
In what feels like serendipitous timing, China is prepping for a new time-travel C-drama that just named as leading lady Liu Shi Shi, best known for being the leading lady of time-travel C-drama Bu Bu Jing Xin which is about to premiere its K-version next week. Shi Shi has just accepted the role as the female lead of the drama … Continue reading →
