God I love this drama so much, so so so much. The 3rd episode of TW-drama Marry Me or Not continues the excellent everything, as things come to a prescient ending between Huan Huan and the wrong sap she was going to marry, at the same time starting things off with an explosive snap, crackle, and pop between her and … Continue reading →
Screenwriting Park Hye Ryun is moving fast with casting her upcoming KBS special drama Page Turner. On the heels of landing leading lady Kim So Hyun, in her umpteenth role playing a student, joining Kim So Hyun will be Ji Soo who is also carving out a nice path playing students. I don’t know why I haven’t thought of Ji … Continue reading →
The first K-drama of 2016 to arrive looks to be One More Happy Ending, airing in early January on MBC Wed-Thurs following Sweet Savage Family. The drama just got one more reason for me to check it out – Yoo In Na is reportedly signed on as the second female lead in her first K-drama since the promising but ultimately … Continue reading →
When I first heard this possible casting news, my first reaction was to scream “noooooooo”, and it’s not due to any visceral dislike of the actress in question. In the span of a few hours came the entire casting cycle for the female lead of 2016 K-drama Moon Lovers, the Korean adaptation of Chinese period novel Bu Bu Jing Xin … Continue reading →
This drama just went from promising to potential hot mess with one casting, but then again she might surprise most everyone out there. Jin Se Yeon has just been cast in the titular lead role in acclaimed sageuk PD Lee Byung Hoon‘s 2016 weekend drama Prison Flower. This is the drama that would reunite Lee Byung Hoon, who directed Dae … Continue reading →
The casting for Moon Lovers, the K-drama adaptation of popular Chinese novel Bu Bu Jing Xin (Startling with Each Step), just made an upswing on the see-saw casting call. I’m starting to wonder if the production will cast all the princes before revealing who the female lead will be. That’s a nice buildup, as much as the princes are fantastic … Continue reading →
At this point all I can do is make incoherent gibberish noises and smile like a loony to no one in particular. The first stills are out of male lead Yoo Seung Ho for upcoming SBS drama Remember. He plays a genius lawyer with photographic memory who is racing against the clock to clear his wrongly accused father’s name, while … Continue reading →
At this point in her acting career, child-turn-teen actress Kim So Hyun has reached a level where her presence can singlehandedly make something better. Who Are You: School 2015 was as forgettable as it comes narrative wise, but I’ll always remember it rather fondly for Kim So Hyun’s twin performance that was incredibly diverse and nuanced for one so young. … Continue reading →
I knew it was too early to get complacent, to start thinking that the upcoming K-adaptation of time-traveling C-novel Bu Bu Jing Xin (Startling with Each Step) was going to be all good casting news. It was off to a fantastic start, first with the additional of Kang Ha Neul, followed by Lee Jun Ki confirmed to play the male … Continue reading →
I still remember a long stretch of years when Jang Nara was never seen in K-dramas, but with last year’s Fated to Love You, it’s been a nonstop bullet train of one drama after another. Last year she also did Mr. Back, and this year she was in I Remember You, and in early 2016 she will be in upcoming … Continue reading →
I’m curious why KBS in particular keeps sticking with the high school dramas when all recent ones have floundered to failed in ratings. Who Are You: School 2015 is only considered not an abject failure because it’s ratings went up mildly during its run and the drama got buzz online, but that can’t even be said for the recent Sassy … Continue reading →
Every year the three major Korean networks hold its own year end drama awards, not exactly what could be deemed objective but is certainly their own prerogative to do so. The K-ent pundits enjoy speculating as to who will watch away with the Daesang (Big Prize) of the night, and the first wave is here as one news report is … Continue reading →
The first preview is out for period C-drama Braveness of the Ming, best known for being leading lady Park Min Young‘s first foray into Chinese entertainment. I say best known for because this drama otherwise wouldn’t get nearly as much attention, which isn’t knocking its quality or lack thereof, but merely noting that there are so many similar such C-dramas … Continue reading →
