Lol, I love it when I have to ear my own words. And in this case it’s happily though of course solely in this context. The teaser concept posters are out for C-drama Rebirth (also called Frozen Awakening) starring Li Yun Rui and Huang Yang Tian Tian in the direct sequel to Princess Agents. Literally, this drama picks up from … Continue reading →
Alrighty, it’s December and we’re less than one month away from the arrival of When the Stars Gossip (Ask the Stars), that humongous budget and cast K-dramas with leads Lee Min Ho and Gong Hyo Jin. It’s been finished almost two years in filming and post-production so the lead up has been long and hopefully it hasn’t dimmed the anticipation. … Continue reading →
Oh god this is such terribly sad news to hear and it’s definitely not been a good first week of December this year. Japanese news is reporting that actress and singer Nakayama Miho has passed away. She was 54 years old and found deceased in her home bathroom, the method by which is likely self-inflicted. She was scheduled for a … Continue reading →
I actually think Zhao Lu Si acted decently in The Story of Pearl Girl, her performance was not even in my top 10 of complaints with the drama. But the drama is a flop for sure now, with the amount of money put in and advertising dollars vis-a-vis the reception, reviews, and viewership. A week after the drama finished its … Continue reading →
The months long filming is reportedly close to a wrap for xianxia C-drama Love Beyond the Grave. Starring Dilraba Dilmurat and Chen Fei Yu, the drama got way more coverage for her fans being upset with her so-called “unattractive costumes, hair, and makeup” and lodging complaints and a full scale protest. Reportedly the production tried to ignore then but ended … Continue reading →
Of course we’re getting one more blossom in the title C-drama before year end, and this one from the dull as dishwater English title and the lead cast interests me zero at all but sharing in case others are curious. The period C-drama Blossom (九重紫 Jiu Chong Zi) is adapted from the same name novel and stars Meng Zi Yi … Continue reading →
Okay, talk about burying the lede here with this drama lol. Period C-drama Shadow Love (与晋长安 Yu Jing Chang An) with Song Yi and Cheng Lei just looked like a female general kicking ass and her romance with another male general/king and that was good enough for me to be interested. Then I watched the first preview was like what-tha-wut?!? … Continue reading →
It was a wild Tuesday evening this week in South Korea, as President Yoon Suk Yeol went on TV to unilaterally impose martial law on the country, claiming national security reasons as his opposition he asserts was trying to destabilize the country and also colluding with North Korea. Everyone not President Yoon collectively lost their shit and went to protest … Continue reading →
It’s with a bittersweet heart that the world learned today Chinese born writer Qiong Yao, who grew up and lived her adult life in Taiwan, passed away at 86 years old. Her sixty-some years of writing dozens of books are so famous not just in readership, but also in even broader reach adapted into countless dramas over multiple decades. Probably … Continue reading →
It’s more and more obvious that it’s the loudest and most obnoxious fandom fans that take over the public perception of the star. C-actor Cheng Lei only in the recent year has been elevated to male lead thanks to a breakout role in My Journey to You but his fans are already getting in over their head in making demands. … Continue reading →
Hur, this sounds so random but kind cool concept. A new K-movie has been announced titled Wild Thing and will star Kang Dong Won, Lim Ji Yeon, and Uhm Tae Goo, so a very strong acting cast for sure. It’s about three friends who formed the mixed gender rock band Triangle in their youth but breaks up over something scandalous. … Continue reading →
Well, here’s another one that can be skipped, unless the reviews get better which is always a possibility. Earlier in the year another female lead becomes business head to save the family drama Blossoms in Adversity also premiered to poor reviews but really turned the tide as the drama went on. But for now Brocade Odyssey which premiered this past … Continue reading →
So last weekend was the premiere of The Trunk on Netflix, the last big premiere before the behemoth Squid Game 2 arrives end of the month at Christmas time. Starring Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin and adapted from the same name novel, the drama puts powerhouse A-list leads with a much more subdued and slow burn story. The reviews … Continue reading →
