I continue to love The Girl Who Sees Smells, no ifs buts or caveats. For a drama with a dark serial killer underbelly, this story makes me laugh way more than even pure rom-coms that deal with only light subject matters. What works is natural laughs that comes from sweet and sassy Cho Rim and her alchemy interactions with dour … Continue reading →
The best part of K-drama kiss scenes, aside from granting the viewer the thrill of seeing the leads get all up close and personal, is that a good kiss scene forms bite sized satisfaction regardless of how good the drama is overall. One thing that kept me sane recapping craptastic Hyde, Jekyll, Me was the unanimous feedback from everyone else … Continue reading →
When the casting news first broke Wednesday morning about Kim So Eun joining the upcoming MBC vampire fantasy sageuk Scholar Who Walks the Night, the details were unclear as to whether she was up for the leading lady role or a leading lady role. That’s a huge distinction since the former means she’s the heroine of the tale and the … Continue reading →
My boy Yoo Seung Ho is basically a baby male god status right now in Korea. From halmonis on down to elementary school kids, he’s beloved in Korea comparable to the Moon Geun Young‘s popularity heyday from her Painter of the Wind era. Koreans love their talented child actors and Yoo Seung Ho has the added bonus of behaving perfectly … Continue reading →
This is most excellent drama news, but a word of caution not to get too excited since it’s still a ways out and much can change in the interim. SBS is lining up dramas well into the summer and a new production joins the busy line up with modern workplace romance Let’s Have Dinner Together. The drama will be adapted … Continue reading →
Leave it to Yoon Eun Hye to stir up talk and interest even doing something as mundane (for a celebrity) as attending a brand promotional launch event. Yoon Eun Hye stepped out today in Seoul for a L’Oreal Paris beauty campaign, sporting the same reddish tinted hair color she’s been rocking since last month when she jetted off to Paris … Continue reading →
I wish Celebrity magazine would change its title, just to avoid the inevitable cringe I get everytime I see a cover star’s face plastered right under the too obvious title. Aside from that, the latest Ji Chang Wook pictorial in Celebrity magazine signals the end of Healer Seo Jung Woo as the drama hair is gone and replaced with a … Continue reading →
There are worst places to be in the casting process than where upcoming KBS drama Hello Monster is right now. The drama is in a weird spot of having filled out the cast except for the leading man role. Luckily the drama still has plenty of time to find a strapping fellow to play the criminal profiler expert since Hello … Continue reading →
Seeing this latest pictorial of Kim Tae Hee looking gloriously pretty for InStyle Korea reminded me of how long it’s been since I watched her onscreen and led to me rewatching the good bits of Jang Ok Jung, Live in Love. That drama fell apart in epic fashion exactly from the midway point onward, but the first half was glorious … Continue reading →
I love Moon Geun Young but never feel terribly sad when she takes long breaks between acting projects, or even when she chooses dud dramas. She’s got a life outside of acting and a smart level head on her shoulders so I figure she’s happy doing whatever else when there’s a long time between hearing of her return to acting. … Continue reading →
The closer MBC gets to dropping its next epic sageuk Splendid Politics (Hwajung), the more I’m having fond memory flashbacks to Queen Seondeok, one of MBC’s biggest hit sageuks (and buzziest) in the last decade. Dae Jang Geum aired over a decade ago in 2003, Yi San was a hit but a bit too staid, Dong Yi got the ratings and I … Continue reading →
Cable network jTBC‘s current Fri-Sat night new drama Falling for Innocence (Falling for Soon Jung) just started last week but the network is nearly done casting for the next drama to take over this time slot. My Love Eun Dong stars Joo Jin Mo as a man who can’t let go of his first love played by Kim Sa Rang, who … Continue reading →
Last weekend was the first television interview of Yoo Seung Ho since he was discharged from the military in late 2014, finally giving me a chance to see the cutie onscreen again. It was a double treat since the interview sat down with him on the set of a CF filming costarring Park Shin Hye. I already called her having … Continue reading →
