A Koala's Playground Posted on July 19, 2016 by ockoalaJuly 18, 2016
Three stylish men posing in a vintage setting.

Somewhere between I Want and Fans Myself lies the upcoming K-adaptation of the popular Chinese time-traveling romance novel Bu Bu Jing Xin. Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart: Ryeo (Bobogyungsim: Ryeo) has front loaded the cast with more flower boys than can be counted on one hand, with Lee Jun Ki leading the way as 4th Prince commanding the screen with his … Continue reading →

IU Impressively Performs the Chinese Bu Bu Jing Xin OST Song at Changsa Fanmeeting

A Koala's Playground Posted on July 18, 2016 by ockoalaJuly 17, 2016
Performing artist in colorful stage outfits.

This is the perfect example of fan service done right, and just up my star and drama love alley to boot. Singer-actress IU was in Changsa, China this weekend for her personal fan meeting, and during the event she surprised her attending fans by performing the hit ending theme song from the Chinese drama adaptation of Bu Bu Jing Xin. … Continue reading →

The Cast of K-Bu Bu Jing Xin Wow on the Cover and Pages of Cosmopolitan Korea

A Koala's Playground Posted on July 15, 2016 by ockoalaJuly 15, 2016
Couple posing for Cosmopolitan magazine cover.

Cosmopolitan Korea certainly scored a coup on landing the cast of the K-version of Bu Bu Jing Xin, turning the Goryeo princes from Bobogyungsim: Ryeo (Scarlet Heart: Moon Lovers) back into their snappy modern incarnations. Leads Lee Jun Ki and IU take one cover as the time-crossed lovers, looking absolutely stylish and visually compatible. She does seem younger but that totally fits … Continue reading →

Sneak Peek at Kiss Scene Between Lee Jun Ki and IU in K-version of Bu Bu Jing Xin Dials Up Anticipation

A Koala's Playground Posted on July 11, 2016 by ockoalaJuly 10, 2016
Behind the scenes of a romantic film scene.

It’s about a month and a half out from the premiere of K-version of Bu Bu Jing Xin on SBS, not very long considering how long this drama has been on my radar since 2015 when news broke that Korean was legit going to make their own version of BBJX. When the original was airing I was waxing rhapsodic about which … Continue reading →

Lee Jun Ki’s Having a Bloody Good Time Along with Full Cast in Official Character Posters for K-Bu Bu Jing Xin

A Koala's Playground Posted on July 4, 2016 by ockoalaJuly 4, 2016
Movie poster featuring two contrasting characters.

One of these things is not like the others is my first reaction upon seeing the just released official character posters for the Korean drama version of Bu Bu Jing Xin. The concerted effort to distinguish male lead Lee Jun Ki‘s 4th Prince, from the C-drama version’s understated steely scholar and also from the other princes in the K-version called … Continue reading →

SNSD’s Seohyun is a Beautiful Dancer Princess in Upcoming K-Bu Bu Jing Xin

A Koala's Playground Posted on June 30, 2016 by ockoalaJune 30, 2016
Woman in traditional attire wielding a sword.

The male cast of Bu Bu Jing Xin, whether the C-drama version or now the K-drama adaptation, understandably gets the most buzz since it’s a particularly extravagant female fantasy to have so many flower boy princes buzzing around the female lead. The Korean version Bobogyungsim: Ryeo (Scarlet Heart: Ryeo) is prepping the post-production touches for an end of August premiere … Continue reading →

It’s the perfect time to check in with the K-drama adaptation of Bu Bu Jing Xin (Bobogyungsim: Ryeo or Scarlet Heart: Ryeo), with the drama confirmed to premiere on August 29th in the Mon-Tues time slot on SBS following the conclusion of medical romance Doctors with Park Shin Hye and Kim Rae Won. A Koala's Playground Posted on June 19, 2016 by ockoalaJune 19, 2016
Couple sharing a sweet moment on stage.

It’s double the love this weekend for two big name Chinese entertainment star couples out and about. First came TW-actor and singer Nicky Wu’s Shanghai fan meeting where his famous wife C-actress Liu Shi Shi made a surprise appearance to support her hubby. Nicky blurted out “I thought you were in Beijing!” when Shi Shi appeared onstage and the two shared … Continue reading →

Official Poster and First Exciting Teaser Video for K-version of Bu Bu Jing Xin

Historical drama poster featuring multiple characters.

The K-drama world of Bu Bu Jing Xin (Bobogyungsim: Ryeo) took a big step forward this week with the Chinese released the first poster and video teaser for the drama. It looks good, people, legit does not look like a hot mess off the bat. The Korean version of the many princes are all shining in their own way and … Continue reading →

K-Bu Bu Jing Xin Showcases Ji Soo as 14th Prince and Kang Hana as a Goryeo Princess

A Koala's Playground Posted on May 30, 2016 by ockoalaMay 29, 2016
Historical drama scene with two characters.

It’s a two-fer this week with two new looks at the sprawling cast of Korean adaptation of Bu Bu Jing Xin (Startling with each Step). I loved seeing Nam Joo Hyuk in character as the renaissance Prince 13th, with good hair and a refined demeanor. Now comes Ji Soo playing the brash young 14th Prince, the role that launched C-actor … Continue reading →

Nam Joo Hyuk Shows Off Good Hair in New Still as 13th Prince in K-Bu Bu Jing Xin

A Koala's Playground Posted on May 24, 2016 by ockoalaMay 24, 2016
Person in traditional attire writing at table.

Hair seems to be the bulk of all commentary around the upcoming K-version adaptation of Chinese romance novel Bu Bu Jing Xin (Startling with Each Step). To be more precise, the hair discussion all revolves around the side-swept eye covering thatch of locks over male lead Lee Jun Ki‘s left eye, a look I think he pulls off even if … Continue reading →

K-Bu Bu Jing Xin Contrasts Dark Lee Jun Ki with Innocent IU in New Character Stills

A Koala's Playground Posted on May 16, 2016 by ockoalaMay 16, 2016
Two individuals in traditional costumes.

The styling for the leads in the upcoming K-drama adaptation of time-traveling Chinese romance novel Bu Bu Jing Xin (Bobogyungsim: Ryeo) is certainly going for visual oomph. At least for male lead Lee Jun Ki, what with the bangs taking front and center in all the stills I’ve seen of him as 4th Prince. He looks fantastic in this brooding Goryeo dark … Continue reading →

Five celebrities at a red carpet event.

Airing time is now confirmed for the much anticipated K-drama adaptation of well known Chinese time-traveling romance novel Bu Bu Jing Xin ((Startling with Each Step). It’s been four years since C-dramas adapted BBJX into the drama version with the English title of Scarlet Heart and starring Nicky Wu and now real life wife Liu Shi Shi.
