Things are not looking promising for the KBS Mon-Tues drama Big Man, which can either mean expectations are dialed down so low it only has one way to go which is up, or the worst cast scenario is that it’s DOA on arrival. The currently airing drama in that time slot is Full Sun with Yoon Kye Sang and Han … Continue reading →
I’m really looking forward to the upcoming KBS Mon-Tues drama Big Man but it doesn’t seem the be garnering a lot of pre-airing interest. I love two of the leads in Kang Ji Hwan and Jung So Min, and the other two leads being Daniel Choi and Lee Da Hee are cool with me as well. I think this foursome … Continue reading →
KBS Mon-Tues have been mostly a ratings sinkhole. In the entire last year, the only two dramas to do decently in that time slot were Good Doctor and Queen of the Office. The list of failures with big stars and big budgets lay like fallen casualty: Shark, Marry Him If You Dare, Ad Genius Lee Tae Bak, and Prime Minister … Continue reading →
KBS just just premiered it’s new Mon-Tues drama Full Sun (Beyond the Clouds) today and just like clockwork the casting is getting finalized for the follow up drama Big Man. I’m still a bit sad that the rom-com Mozart Romance got pulled from the line up, despite Prime Minister and I puttering to its conclusion I’m still in the mood … Continue reading →
The holiday season is fast approaching like a freight train and with it comes holiday cheer and hopefully more charitable givings. Elle Korea has assembled a huge group of actors, actresses, and idols for it’s annual “Share Happiness” charity photo campaign. The ginormous list of participating stars include: Jung Kyung Ho, Lee Jin Wook, Daniel Henney, Lee Bo Young, Han … Continue reading →
The star-studded caper movie Thieves held its media movie premiere in Korea this week, and in attendance was a coterie of K-stars even more high wattage than usual. That’s not surprising since the movie cast itself consists of some top-notch star power – Kim Yoon Seok, Lee Jung Jae, Kim Hye Soo, Jeon Ji Hyun, Kim Hae Sook, Kim Soo … Continue reading →
I feel like I can’t turn around without tripping over a new K-drama waiting to premiere. I can count 8 new dramas waiting to drop on my lap, and at which point I’m sure I’ll drop most of them like a hot potato. I’m pretty content if even one of them turns out awesome. I’m not completely writing off Ghost … Continue reading →
I wouldn’t be surprised if Ghost with So Ji Sub and Lee Yeon Hee ends up leading the Wed-Thurs drama pack in the upcoming cycle. The PD and scriptwriter combo did the ratings success Sign last year for SBS (which I skipped due to my raging Park Shin Yang allergy), and I’ve actually been a fan of the PD’s directing … Continue reading →
The first drama out of the gate in the upcoming May K-drama derby will be Jang Nara and Daniel Choi’s Baby-faced Beauty, which premieres on May 2, 2011. While I’m not interested in this drama, I do think it’s premise is cute (about a perpetually youthful-looking woman who pretends to be younger to get ahead), and the cast looks to … Continue reading →
Upcoming KBS Mon-Tues drama Pretty Young Woman (also known as Youthful Beauty or Baby-Faced Beauty) held its first script reading session yesterday. This will be Jang Nara‘s return to K-dramas after working almost exclusively in China for the last few years. Her leading man has been confirmed as Daniel Choi, and the drama is directed by the PD who did … Continue reading →
Why haven’t these two collaborated before? Cosmopolitan Korea magazine selected Daniel Choi and Nam Sang Mi to model its photospread for the Summer 2011 Tommy Hilfiger collection, and the sneak peaks are right on the money. The two of them have great chemistry, have the right sunny disposition for the attitude of these clothes, and look great together.
